Just to keep this up for those who were ripped off, I too am down money, in this case $850.
I took a little different way of getting there but ended up in Ripoffville just like so many of you.
I'm a late comer to knives. Never really been my thing although I've always had one on/near me for any thing that might pop up like opening mail, a package or most importantly, cutting up some dried sausage to eat with some mozzarella and bread. My first "tactical" knife was a Benchmade version of an Emerson.
On another site I frequent, I knew DJ was a member and I would look at his wares from time to time. Then one day, he announced a new mid-tech folder with all sorts of blade options and finishes. Since a bunch of guys were ordering, I figured why not, I'll help a brother out with some business. Mine was $850 which yes, I did pay in full up front only because so many guys knew him. I'm a custom bolt action rifle and 1911 guy and I have never paid more than a deposit for multiple thousand dollar guns but again, I figured I'd help get these new folders rolling plus I was excited that it would be my first custom knife ( a mid tech I understand but more "custom" than my Benchmade.)
Long story short, it's been over six years and nothing. After the myriad of excuses, he bailed out of his own FB page. It's dead except for a couple of sycophants who rear their head from time to time to tell us to chill out. Those here that know me realize I am not the kind of guy to take this. NOBODY steals from me. What is also a little surprising is I also talked to DJ about some family issues way back when that he needed some advice on. Given he knows what I do for a living, it makes me wonder what he is thinking by doubling down on the stupid. This isn't over.
In the mean time, I'm digging knives now. Direware, Shiro , Crusader Forge and Hoback are my guys.
