I'm Glad I Already Have Mags

This is going to a lot worse than the last ban I think. No sunset clause on this one you can bet. Those that live in CA, NY, and other gun unfriendly states are going to get the screws put to them even if the feds don't. They keep giving these wackos their 15 minutes of fame so the next one tries to beat the last ones high score so he can be (in)famous and get his picture all over the media.

Short memories. It wasn't very long ago that P-Mags were selling for 3 or 4 times the MSRP. That was because of a shortage.

BTW, eBay policy does not allow magazines with over 10 round capacity. It cracks me up when I see a 30 round magazine posted a a 10 round.
From what I have seen lately, eBay isn't paying attention.

Yep. The same thing happened back in '94 when the Brady ban first came on. Even with the ban in effect the prices gradually fell after the first initial spike. I lived in Miami at the time and couldn't believe the gun crazyness.

Yeah, I'm sitting okay with a few pmags but outta luck on ammo. Only have 800rds of .223 and didn't have the funds to pick up ammo before or after the election. Will just ride this one out and seriously look at reloading (which is in short supply as well). Just the nature of the beast.

It's just been stupid what PMAGs have been going for, but at the same time distributors (when they get a shipment in), have been able to sell over 10,000 in a few minutes because of the high demand.

But still, $50 of more for a PMAG? I'm surprised the 60 round Surefires aren't going for $300.

This rush has been....aggravating..for several reasons, the first is that distributors have NOTHING (well......besides a few 1911s), and secondly is the people. It's the same calls to the shop, all day, every day. Do you carry PMAGs? Do you have any left? Are you going to get anymore in? When are you going to get some more in? What price will they be? Blah, blah, blah. Same question goes for ARs. And the part that bugs me, they're calling every single gun shop and badgering them with the same questions, they can't understand that gunshops and distributors are just SOLD OUT; and it's the gunshop's fault that they don't have any ARs, mags, or AKs (not the customer when they could have bought 5 a week and a half ago no problem).

Everything is allocated now, mags, 5.56 ammo, ARs. AKs, anything semi auto rifle and looks somewhat military, hell so are Glocks. I'm really hoping this crap ends soon or people get the hint that sold out, means sold out and nothing is going to come soon.

Anyway, rants done, got to get ready for work so I can listen to the PMAG and AR question...over.....and over......and over.....and over......... :barf:

Yeah and how many of you joined the NRA? The Gun grabbers are like the Terminator they're never going to stop coming for your guns and related stuff!

A little bit off topic of the off topic thread but I think it kind of fits in. I posted this over at Scrap Yard forum so I might as well here also,

The recent tragedy is certainly cause for reflection and search for solutions and answers to try to prevent such horrors in the future. I believe that no matter how many laws that are passed, especially ones that are hastily done in the heat of an emotional time, you will never stop all evil people from doing evil acts.

I believe that it is shameless for the political and media elites to immediately jump on these tragedies to further an anti gun agenda. It is also the pinnacle of hypocrisy when most of these same elites are themselves and their children, protected from these same weapons they rail against. I guess it's ok for them to have protection as long as they don't have to do it themselves but us "commoners" cannot be trusted with our own security. Why it would be "The Wild Wild West" all over again. It doesn't matter that the facts show that the most gun violence in our country occurs where the gun laws are the most restrictive, and in so called "Gun Free Zones". Most criminals and crazies are not stupid.

In my opinion a GFZ is an invitation for mentally deranged cowards to try to get their moment of fame and glory and do the most damage before being confronted. Is it just a coincidence that most of the recent tragedies have occurred in these GFZ's. It's interesting that many of these cowards actually shoot themselves at the moment when they realize they are about to be confronted with return fire.

I believe that the media also needs to stop identifying these crazies by name. If the people with these possible tendencies know that they will not get the fame or recognition to go out in a blaze of glory so to speak, then they may not be so likely to go off.

Here's an interesting but long article on the subject also.

Just an FYI, but here in NY we've had a State-only copycat of the '94 AWB in place, with no sunset, since... '94 :(

I'm at the point where I'm pretty much numb to the feeling of the screws turning :)

Life member here.

Yeah, I'm sitting on about 80 30 round mags. Granted they are used but I'm about to liquidate them all. I don't even have a .223!

I do have a M4 Bushmaster and about 12 Pmags.I have the original metal 30rd Bushmaster mag.Not sure if I want to run it on the bay or not as I am not sure about shipping to some states.I may offer it here in trade for a couple 13 rd Glock .40 cal mags.
If I do list it on the bay what are my responsibilities as to knowing what state I can ship too.

im sure the house republicans will block it..but the fear is obama will just bypass them and use executive order..hes done it multiple times on other issues

Dude at Somerset gun show in ky. Bought 200 p mags @ $30 each for $6000
I was lucky enough to pick up a dsa para fal nib last Thursday as the guy was bringing it out of the backroom for $1819 plus tax.

Sorry if I missed this in your post, but do you guys have any PMAG's or AR-15's in stock? I'm hoping to pick some up for around $15 and picking up a Colt for around $1100. I would have called but I don't know the number. Also, do you guys have any ammo in stock? :D  :p :foot:

I can only imagine the sheer annoyance that is occurring with that. People apparently are optimistic but far from realistic. I know it's going to be a long while before things come into stock and it's time to weather the storm and support organizations like the NRA.

History is the best predictor of the future.

I ordered lots of AR mags the day after the election along with pistol mags and lots and lots of ammo. A few "investment" firearms as well.

Same, plus a couple thousand rounds of various rifle calibers. It looks like I could double my money right now, but I bought it to have, not to sell.

The average price of a non windowed Pmag was over $50, the average windowed model was over $70- ABDOLUTELY insane! Thank God I'm sitting pretty well right now, just think what all of these will cost if they do pass the ban.

I'm thankfully ahead of the curve on this go around because I was just getting into collecting firearms and shooting when the 94 ban hit, I didn't like spending $117 to get a G17 17 rd mag, when the ban expired I made sure to buy extra for my lifetime go to guns, and a few extra for when this was going to happen again- we all knew that it would, I just feel bad for the noobs who are getting raped for $1.50's worth of plastic and the 100% increase in rifle prices so far.

Same here. I remember the last AW ban and paying $45 for a decent USGI aluminum mag. As soon as it sunset, I started stocking up. Buying 10 at a time whenever I had some spare cash. While I never really fell in love with PMAGs (Need to be modded to work with a KAC SR15 ambi release), I'm pretty good on USGI mags. I help out at a gunshop part time and even back in '08 the level of panic buying wasn't this extreme. I saw a SCAR sell on gunbroker for well over $7000. There will be a lot of pissed off people if a ban doesn't make it through the House after seeing what some are paying in their panic.
For the past week at my primary job, I've had guys coming up to me asking where they can get a good AR. Sorry bud, you're outta luck. But hey, you had since '04 to get one.

That said, if you haven't done so already, join the NRA. While they may not be perfect, they are the loudest voice we law-abiding, gun owners have.

Remember, and live this saying.

It is better to have (ammo, guns, food) and no money than money and no (ammo, guns, food)....
