I'm Glad I Already Have Mags

Let the insanity begin! Personally, I've been fine with mags for the AR and M1A since 2010-2011 when the prices and supply were back to normal. Around here (Minnesota) we have several local gun forums. Most of the members on one in particular (many are dealers) have been really cool helping fellow members out in getting what they can for realistic prices or through sensible trades. Gougers ($50 mags/$350 PSA & RRA lowers/$300 BCG's) have been identified and unofficially scorned. Some longer term members who turned to gouging probably won't have anyone to trade/sell with after all this blows over. Burning bridges in short-sighted attempts to make $20 or $30 profit off their "friends" on a few $10 mags is sad. We've been taking care of our own, and others, and hammering the jerks. 95% of the regulars are hooking each other up via PM and just not posting deals for vultures to see. Kinda cool how everyone is coming together.

Now I'm stoked I picked up a LNIB DSA imbel build for $1000 last month. I feel like I should paypal the guy some extra money LOL.

Like I said join the NRA it's your last line of defense! The Libs are all Hysterical over this and they're not going to stop their attack! We just had a shooting up in Sacramento where a homeowner shot three bad guys after a home invasion attempt. One of the bad guys was shot dead and the other two were sent to the hospital including the homeowner. I guess one of his kids was having a slumber party at the time. Of course no national Lib media report at all.

That's the old style packaging though, those are only worth about $5 each ;) :D

As for the NRA, it's a start, they have the funding and power, just wish they'd push more.

Better than nothing though.

I you have been living under a rock and don't have what you think you need, you are probably S.O.L. Be prepared to spend some cash. Send a fair share to the NRA to allso! Lifetime member here, and signed up my grandsons for lifetime memberships allso. The good ol days are over. Think alternatives like lever actions in various calibers. I think Jeff Cooper called the .357 mag. lever gun the NY assault rifle, or some such thing. Good luck and remember preparedness begins now and don't fall asleep to the pending responsibilities to your family now. Blah Blah Blah, I've been drinkin, Merry CHRISTmas.

Bravado is right. Guyon is a hoarder. M67 is just full of it because Guyon's mags are easily worth $6 a piece, or $10 a piece if he throws in that counterfiet NMSFNO.

But back to Bravado's point for a minute. $25 is all it takes. NRA gets it's power by it's number of members (voters). Nothing scares the hell out of a politician more than the thought of being fired. ;) Don't forget... they work for us. One of the great things about the NRA is built from members from both parties and is about as non-partisan as we get nowdays. John Boehner and Harry Reid are both supporters.

Lets all try to keep the politics out of this forum as much as possible. The Busse forum isn't the place for it.

Hope all of you dirty hogs have a very merry Christmas and a happy and safe new year!!!

I'm going hunting for the next week.... as an excuse to use my knives. :D

Sorry you feel that way but the NRA is the only lobbying group with any power and they're the only ones slowing the hysterical Libs down right now and for the foreseeable future. And of course they're going to demonize the NRA they did it back when Clinton was in office as well.

Not entirely true, there is the JPFO, and the great thing about them is the demonize anyone trying to take firearms away.

NRA is strong, and stands up for keeping no new harmful 2nd amendment laws from coming. But when was the last time they defended NFA rights or tried to get the NFA laws changed?

But like I said, NRA is better than nothing.

I just ordered 3 pmags for my saiga, but I need to get around to installing a bullet guide so I can use milsurp beryls and circle 10s.

The NRA is the oldest and most successful anti-gun group.

No it didn't.

Yes it did. It was an auto repeal.

The 1994 assault weapons ban included a "sunset clause" providing that the law would be automatically repealed on September 13, 2004. When Congress failed to act to extend the ban, certain assault weapon features again became legal under the provisons of federal law.

I was an FFL holder at the time.

Not the same thing as having something repealed, It expired. Think those clowns would let that happen again?

It was auto repealed(same as expired, and have seen both used in describing it), as that was the sunset provision part of it. The 94 bill is why that next particular congress got in there, and didn't renew it. Same thing would happen again if it could pass. It would not pass now, and especially if it didn't have a similar provision in it.

edit- This is getting very political now, and I won't discuss it any further in this room. We have a room here where this talk should be confined to.

Maybe future discussion in this thread will stay on the topic of the magazines, and not the political nature of how they may, or may not be banned.

OK... good idea Ken.

For those interested, Brownells is still accepting backorders for magazine at NORMAL prices. 10 magpul 30 rds for about $125 for gen 2 non window, a bit more for gen 3 w/ window.
Same with ammo. Brownells is good folks!

Indeed I just put an order in for some more PMAGS and Armalite .308 mags for myself and friends. Just incase.

Magpuls website says the mag factory is running 24/7 to catch up with demands. I hope it's not a race to the finish.
