No way these go to shows! These are my keepers, and will never sell them. Well, I should never say never, but for right now they are going nowhere.

The knives I sell at the shows let be buy these keepers. I can't wait until I get my Schwarzer Chevron Damascus dagger... That one is really cool, but it will be a while for that one.

Nice fixed blade! What is the handle material on that one Senator? It looks like a burl.

It's Thuya burl with a thin buffalo horn spacer and a nickel sliver guard. The knife is extremely light for its size.

I love the curved double-bolsters on that Steigerwalt scale-release. Very nice.

How about something simple and elegant? This one perhaps. The blue anodized liners and the sapphire inset into the thumbstud compliment the white pearl well.

Nice piece Senator! The file work is very nice... I like it!

Isn't this much more pleasing than arguing back and fourth?
smile.gif

Here is a piece that you might like... It's a nice solid swing blade knife from Wood/Eire. It's simple, and clean, with beautiful linen Micarta scales, and a style you don't see to often from them. I talked with Mike, and he said that he thinks they only made about twenty of these.

I've always like the Wood/Irie swing-lockers. Neat folder design I think.

Here's my most recent acquisition. It's a Darrel Ralph double-action EDC that I had the pleasure of doing some work on up at Darrell's shop a few weekends ago. I did the hand-rubbed finish on the 420V blade, the anodizing, gold nugget treatment, the texturing and heat coloring of the screw heads/release/clip...

Wow! That is definitely the way to go... Having a hand in the making of your own knife. How cool is that, and doing it with Darrel has to be the best. I would love to see the making of a Damascus blade, because to me, (being a Damascus junkie) that would be the ultimate. I'm a big Eggerling fan... I love his mosaic Damascus.

There is a guy in Maryland, and his name is Ted Merchant. He runs the knife show in Timonium, and he is having a camp on knife making. I just might go to it, and you can get information on this, and other stuff that they do by going to his site at... http://www.knifeshows.com

Here is a nice little fixed blade by Mr. Corby. It has a high polished sloped clip point blade, sub hilt fighter, with blonde linen micarta. Both, tang, and micarta are tapered.

Ya gotta love a double-ground sub-hilt. huh? Keeping with the double-ground fighter theme...

Click on the pics for hi-res images.

Here's my all-time favorite fixed blade design. This one is NOT mine, but I wish it was. It's a Steve Johnson chute knife. Ahhh, to die for.

For about 10% of the cost of the Johnson knife, ordinary knife collectors can get a GenO Denning chute knife. Double-ground 4.5" mirror-polished blade. Kudu horn scales over red spacers and a fully-tapered tang. This one belongs to Duncan Rutherford, a long-time collector of George Herron's (and other makers') knives. I have one just like it, but my kudu horn handles have a redder tint to them. Outstanding knife - especially for the money.

Damn! Those are some fine looking pieces. Love those sub-hilts, and the one I would like to get my hands on is the Brend. I think it is the #2, but i'm not sure. I don't know if you know Bob Dogget, but he had a very nice chute knife up on the forums not too long ago. Here is a pic of it... I should call him and find out if it is still for sale.

Here is a piece that I got from Andre` DeVilliers... Andre` is making some fine knives, and I recommend his Pathfinder knife highly.

Speaking of Bob Doggett - forumite dogman for those who don't know - he just had one of the first knives he ever made pictured in the January 2001 issue of Tactical Knives magazine. Here it is:

I can't believe that ya'll have allowed a perfectly good mudslinging session degrade into this.
Scandalous!
Off to search for a Geno Dennings chute knife!

narruc1, where can I find info on the Wood/Eire folders? I absolutely love that knife. What kind of price range are we talking about (specifically for the one pictured)? May be stepping out of my league budget-wise.

Oooops Again! What is goin on?

[This message has been edited by narruc1 (edited 10-20-2000).]

Owen, I see you have no e-mail, so I must answer you here. The knives that i'm posting here are not for sale... These are my babies!
biggrin.gif
That is not to say they will not be in the future, but not right now.

As you may, or may not know, Woo/Eire are no longer making knives together. There is a story behind that, but I will not go into it right now. One more thing... don't you think This is better than mud slinging?
smile.gif
Thank you for your interest!.

Hey Gary,
smile.gif
What are you doing causing trouble? lol

Senator, Bob is doing quite well with his knifemaking. He is also a very nice guy, and with those two qualities he will do very well I think.

Let me know what you think of this one Senator? It is made by Jody Samson. I think he used to make, or grind the Benchmade Balisongs. This is one of his creations... It's not a big knife, but it is very nicely done.

This is Dan Fronefield's "Midnight" folder. Mine is #4 of 10 Dan is doing. The handles are Renfrow stony meteorite. The bolsters are Gibeon nickel-iron meteorite. There is an inlay of Albin pallasite meteorite in the backspacer and thumb stud. The san-mai blade is an O1 core, with Gibeon iron meteorite/O1 twist-pattern damascus on either side of the O1 core. Titanium liners - fully fileworked. The full-length backspacer is fileworked (inside and out) O1 steel. There is a 14K gold bladestop on the inside of the backspacer.

You can find more info on my Midnighte page.

I want that knife! I saw you had it up for sale, but I see you didn't sell it. What would it take to pry that from you? It is one gorgeous knife.

The San Mai damascus... Is that Norris's? If i'm not mistaken, I think he has the patent on it.

Hhmmmm! Lets see... Thats a hard act to follow. This is my second knife purchase...It is from Don Hoskins. He is a college professor, that makes a couple of knives a year. Hard to find to say the least, and never from him. He is very eccentric! This is just a very nice, slim, clean gentleman's knife. A high polished blade, nickle/silver bolsters, presentation MOP, and a rocker bar release. Very smooth!
