So, with a cap of say $25 new, what are some knives youve owned that youve been impressed with?

Mine would be the Timber Rattler Bowie and the Schrade Cliphanger( yes i know but ive EDC-ed one for years and ive liked it)

I have been impressed with the Cold Steel Pocket Bushman, Kudu, GI Tanto, Roach Belly, Tanto and Outdoorsman Lites. I have also been very impressed with my Moras, Opinel, and CRKT Pazoda.

For folders Ka Bar Dozier is great. Ontario RAT 1. CRKT Drifter

Hard to beat the value of a Mora or Condor for fixed blade

Bob Dozier (Ka-Bar) folder, pick any carbon steel folder, and several models of Vic SAKs.

I agree with alot of these choices. Moras and Opinels are the obvious ones. The Cold Steel budget knives also tend to be very good for the price. I was impressed with the Pocket Bushman and found the 4116 steel performed much better than expected. A friend of mine bought a GI Tanto which I thought was a dumb design, but after he rounded off the tanto point on a grinder, effectively turning it into a drop point knife it has performed very well.

Pretty much Kershaw's entire budget line of folders...Oso Sweet, Clash, Kuro, Crown, Burst, Tremor...take your pick. I don't have as much experience with Byrd as I do with Kershaw, but from my experience and from what I've read, the same basically applies to them.
Cold Steel Kudu, Bushman/Bowie Bushman, GI Tanto..haven't tried the Roach Belly or Canadian Belt Knife yet, but they're around $15 each and are on my agenda.
Opinel(any of them)
Mora(again, take your pick)
Victorinox SAKs(several in that price range)
Douk-Douk
Svord Peasant/Mini Peasant
Higo No Kami(you can get a set of all 3 sizes for just over $25 at some places, individually you can get any of them for under $20)
CRKT Premonition is pretty decent
Ontario Old Hickory line

Opinel, I found that I really like the no. 8.

Byrd Meadowlark2, great beater edc.

I got my Tenacious for $25 shipped, money well spent.

Kershaw has a ton of knives priced under $25 that is of good quality.

Buck Vantage Select Large, any Victorinox under $25, Brown Mule Sodbuster (needs work!).

Got my Kershaw Leek in black coating for 30 (close enough! haha), and it's managed to not get sold/traded off yet; definitely one of my favorite inexpensive knives.

Pretty much every knife I own is under $25.

Kershaw Cryo
Ka-bar Dozier folding hunter
Every SAK I own
Kershaw Blackhorse II

One of my favorite "Cheap" knives is the Gerber LST. I have several, still made in the USA, holds a good edge, simple, light and easy on the pocket and under $20.

I'll second the roach belly. I can appreciate Moras for their value, usefulness, and quality. Micro Recon 1 is a good small keychain/watch pocket knife as well.

I really like my Kershaw Oso sweet.
It got added to cart when I was buying another more expensive folder, as it added nothing to the freight cost (international shipping), and it was cheap. And have been real happy I did ever since.
