Inexpensive knives that you have liked

Ontario RAT 1/2
Ontario Utilitac 2
Kabar Dozier Hunter
Buck Vantage

When it comes to the Dozier I prefer the opening hole over the thumb stud. I can't flick it open (like with most lockbacks) so the hole just makes it easier to open.

Mora Companion Heavy Duty. Best deal I've seen for $15. Great quality at an absolute steal of a price.

Other than the usual complement of Moras and RATs/Zancudos that I own, I have to say that I enjoy my Chinese Kershaw Shuffle, and my US made Buck Spitfire. My particular example is in green, with the orange backspacer. I love everything about it, especially the fact that I found it in a heap at the bottom of one of my local Wally World's disaster of a knife-case...marked down no less. I think I paid like $18 for it. Doesn't get any better than that.

I used to own a Spitfire once upon a time. It was a very reliable lock-back. Can you throw a pic up of yours? I would like to see that color combo.

And here are some of the inexpensive knives I own and deeply enjoy:

Ontario Utilitac 2

Kershaw Cryo

Opinel No.8

Kershaw Injection 3.5

Just about any Mora, several SAKS, and any number of old USA made Camillus and Schrade (though not new, they're better than just about anything else made today and sold for that price).

I can do that. I'll get one posted up here in a bit. The homemade beef stew I've got bubbling on the stove is almost ready, or I'd do it right now. I'm sure you understand!

Kershaw Chill and Leatherman PS4. My Kershaw volt ii has also done very well and held up as I used it as a work knife at a Christmas Tree Farm this holiday season.

Gerber LST: still made in the USA. It really is light, strong, and tough.

Case Sodbuster. I'd take one over an Opinel any day.

Another vote for the entry level Victorinox, the Champ I think, has scissors and a single blade, small thing, but I love it for certain uses, makes a great tape tool for bowling. Also several Opinels, and of course any of my several Gerber LST's.

For inexpensive, you cant beat the famous/infamous 'dollar knife' at Wal-Mart's camping department. I see it's repriced at $1.97 now, and still worth a 97% markup.

It's really not a bad entry in the cheap car-glovebox-and-catchall-drawer knife category. Decent serrated SS blade, firm action, thumb flick button, decent grip and build. Pocket/belt clip. Use it a fair bit for the usual unglamorous household chores, I keep one in all my backpacks and day hiking packs.

Dirt cheap, surprisingly decent, it just works. YMMV, but I have no complaints. Now let all the brand snob haters flame me, but hey, it cuts, it folds, it's a buck (or two).

Enlan/Bee, SanRenMu, Ganzo and Harnds for the better known, Omuda, Remei and BaZo for the less well known. I've not had a Navy knife yet but all the other China made knives that I have are well below the $25 and all are Very Good Value, such good value and quality in fact that a lot of American knife makers buy Chinese as well.

Leatherman Crater c33L. My very first "good" non-crap folder. With some adjustment to the pivot, this thing flicks out like crazy, although the action isn't exactly what you'd call smooth. Smallish blade, cap lifter that works just fine, and a decent clip to boot.

I like my Frost Barlow. Haven't had it all that long, but it's solid and well made. Seems to be holding a fine edge pretty well.

Svord Peasant knives, great all-around utility knives, great steel. One hand operation, simple and tough.

The Oso Sweet is a great knife. Kershaw SpeedSafe is awesome.
I recently picked up this "ESEE Zancudo" by BRK and I've been EDCing it for about a week and I really dig it. It's around $25

As requested. I am actually carrying it today, along with a Spyderco Manix2 lightweight.

The color is really bright in person, I love everything about it.
