Ok guys so from all my research the temperatures for that weekend in April should be between 66 and 75 for the highs and 38 to 48 for the lows.

I'm thinking that is a decent approximation....

Yeah, that sounds about right. It will probably be a little bit cooler because my property is a little higher in elevation. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and it will be beautiful outside.

if someone one was driving past NYC I would certainly throw in for gas??

NYC is way out of my way unfortunately, but perhaps we can entice somebody from up north to attend and pick you up along the way.

Thanks Zmbhntr, I'm around that weekend. If a ride works out awesome, if not I'll see you guys some where. Will look into car rentals as well, but it starts to get expensive and renting in the city is way more than in other places.

If I am not rafting that weekend, I will be there. Maybe we can start a group chat about what knives people are bringing or would like to see? Not trying to start a shopping list for lazy thief, but I know when I started I would have loved to have gotten my hands on some models (I just bought them on exchange instead $$$). And weather in late April should be very nice

I'm down with the group conversation. I will only be bringing a few guns and a few busse. If I got pulled over on the way they're is no way with all my stuff something wouldn't get lifted by some sticky police fingers.

For the thieves that should think us easy pick'ns, I will defend my property like my life. Don't make the WV woods end up like 14th century Europe, which ever hand you steal with belongs to my Moabolo.... Chop chop...

The intent of this trip is fun and brotherhood, anyone bringing egos, bs problems from bladeforum, nagging wives, attitudes, or God forbid some cold steel garbage need not apply.

We will pray in the direction of WAUSEON several times a day.(Bombers need not apply). J/k prayer isn't mandatory.

We will destroy things that Zmbhntr says we can (his place his rules).

Treat the place like you own it.

Bring your good spirits (alcohol and cheer).

zmbhntr, please add whatever I may have forgotten....

I was just outside throwing the Moabolo in prep for it....

I want to try and make this, but don't put me on the list yet. I've got a new grandbaby that just arrived this week and need to make sure everything settles down before I drive 250 miles where phones don't work for 3 days. :)

I don't have a lot of Busse's but I have plenty of other sharp things

randy

It was said in jest, but plenty of old mine shafts in WV for any transgressors to disappear.

I have a recon scout that has more camping trips, and wood piles than all my bussekin put together, so let's not get to snobby.

The cold steel comment was my jest. They are effective tools for the price.

Breavis is right, the trip is about having fun as a group of like minded knife enthusiasts. Bring your good spirits (alcohol and cheer) indeed! I do expect that people will be respectful of my property, but we are there to have a good time and chop up a lot of stuff. I have a LOT of trees that have fallen or are standing dead, all of them are fair game. I will mostly be bringing Busse knives, but I'll probably bring some stuff from Nathan Carothers (Nathan the Machinest) and a Wenger hawk too. I'm happy to let people use my knives to see how they like them (not to try to chop rocks, but wood is fine). People are welcome to bring whatever they want for knives. Guns are welcome, but they MUST be treated with the utmost of respect and care. I will not tolerate people waving guns around and pointing them at people, even if they are unloaded. We can certainly do some target practice if people would like, but handling and shooting guns is NOT a drinking sport, at least on my property; I just want to make that clear now so that there is no question about it on the trip. I hope I don't sound like a lawyer. :)

In regards to old mine shafts in WV, while I'm sure that there are a lot of them, I have not found any on my property. My land is in a gated community of 363 lots ranging from 20 - 215 acres each, which in total is over 10,000 acres. The community does abut the Nathaniel Mountain Wildlife Management area which is about 11,000 acres or public hunting land; however, public access to that land is on the other side of a mountain. There is no public road near my property, so there is minimal chance of coming across any of the "thieving type". Here is a link to the website of one of the real estate agents that sells property in Ashton Woods where my land is, and it the website provides some more info about the area. http://ashtonwoodswv.com/

In regards to knives, I'll be bringing the below Busse's, and probably some others as well.

I only have one Busse. I don't feel worthy enough to even join this gathering?

That's some of that dumb talk..... My other buddy is thinking of coming now and he doesn't have any busse knives... He is an aspiring knife maker though....

You have owned your share of busse knives zombie assassin... That tg you have is epic. Bring your tg14 and bring your ass...

Man, I can't decide what to bring... Not sure I'll bring many guns other than the standard ones I'd take on a woods trip. I know I'll bring a NMFBM, NMFSH, FFBM, MOABM, MOAB, CGFBM, SHBM, ASHBM, SHII, Fat ASH, ZTBM, BWM... Heck, I might even bring my Fletcher 24" O1 bladed Bunker Buster!

Do it!

Bunch of great knives already. I have not used a MOAB and would love the chance, interested to see if I like using the ashbm any better than the original. Seems a major deficiency in ResC in the group. I have B11, B8, B9, 911, 711 and maybe few more.

Driving through the people's republic of omalleys maryland so doubt I bring many firearms other than my carry.

This trip sounds awesome, and it seems like a good group of people are signed up
I'm fairly new to busse, in fact my first order is still awaiting fulfillment at the shop, but I've been on the forums for the better part of a year. I really wish I could make it out to this party, because I'd love to hold and use some of the other busse models, and get to know some of you guys! If anyone ends up heading over there from the northwest and is willing to drop by Boise and pick up a passenger, let me know

I wish something like this could go down in Minnesota.

People from Minnesota are more than welcome to attend. ;)

Do it!

O' Malley is gone, but it's not much improved. I live in MD but although I can legally CCW in all surrounding states, I can't in MD.

That is a great list! How thick is your MOAB? I'd like to see how it chops compared to my "skinny" Garth edition. Definitely bring the Bunker Buster.

You got me breavis. I'll be there. My TG will too.

Glad to hear it. This is not a contest about who has the most knives, it is an opportunity for like minded people to get out in the woods and have a fun weekend hanging out around a fire.

There is absolutely no need to apologize for "sounding like a lawyer". This is your place, and I know I thank you for offering it up for us all to have some fun (and meet) - but I also absolutely respect that this is your place, so your rules.
