Extra credit..... You betcha..... Please share your ideas..... That is the whole point of the exercise...... I am loving this....... Lots of good ideas here guys, lots....... I am thinking a second prize for ideas that take longer, bigger tubes.....sort of thinking outta the little cardboard box, as it were........ I am already think tie downs that will not injure the finish on my new truck...... I am always amazed at the problem solving skills of the denizens of this place ........

Full length tubes make fantastic (and free) tie-downs. Plus the rubber tends to "grip" whatever you're tying down, keeping it from shifting like it might with a regular web strap. Another thing that's usually free are S-hooks - I find broken rubber tie-down straps all the time and have a pretty good collection of road worn S-hooks going
