A lot of us like to hit the boonies, so is there any interest in putting together some Beckerhead adventures? River tripping, hike ins, backpacking some trails, etc.? I know everybody has their responsibilities, so I'm talking about weekend or long weekend things. Several of us live within a few hours drive in the midwest, so it's do-able if there is enough interest. A couple of things a year maybe? What do you think?

I would be interested....I think Im about 2-3 hours from you Trade. Lots of great hiking/rivers/lakes here in the Ozarks actually....Mark Twain Nat'l Forest too.
 
As long as we could plan them not too far removed from anyone it sounds like a lot of fun.
Maybe worst comes to worst I will just have to fly, to skip the long drive.

LOL, that's what sucks about here...if I DID wanna fly, I still have to drive 2 hours or better to get to an airport!
 
I have a 5x10 utility trailer for hauling the trebuchet to site.

Im close to Mt Home AR....so if anyone is nearby and wants to make a Ozark trip, give me a holler...I will show you around some.
 
I'm definitely interested in hiking / backpacking trips, especially with a group like this. Anything within 4-5 hours drive is reasonable for me to make one per year.

I'm just starting a rumor that trade has a trebuchet, hoping that it will be a self-fulfilling prophecy. :p

Depending on where y'all do your thing, I could be in.
 
second vote for one of the Mark Twain Nat'l forests in Mo.
Side trip to Grizzly tool & Bass Pro in Springfield would be a bonus if we stuck to the southern part of the state.

I know some good kayak/canoe spots along the 11-point river which runs thru Mark twain, outside Alton, MO. about 2 hours from Springfield. 11-point is a fun river, not as touristy as the Spring River, decent fishing, all free....camping, launching, parking, etc.
 
Well, I'm interested. But I'd have to fly for a few hours first. I am thinking about spending some of 2013/2014 in the US however, so when that time comes I'm definitely interested :)
