As Derek mentioned, I'm pretty much closeby, But I wanted to say that there's a lot of very nice outdoorsy areas both in WV and VA. Several National forest areas, state parks, etc. Many of which are a short drive for us. And that I'd be down for just about as many adventures as I can cram in before the bitter cold comes. Doesn't have to be all out for me, could just be a small crew and an afternoon fishing.
 
Just wanted to bump this up to see if anybody else wants in. I'll start checking with you guys to see if we can put something together.

We could alternate too, one time you guys come out to VA, the next time we roll out by Trade, something like that.
 
Trade, I'm an hour and a half from you... If we ever get this together, we can carpool... Take turns driving and stuff if you want.

Just let me know when/where and I'll be there.

I'd be in I'm central Missouri but not adverse to a drive. I love going to Mark Twain great area. Would love to get over to the Virginias some day too.
 
I'd be down for the same thing in the NW. I made the Beckerhead West Gathering in Oregon, and met some great people..........more than willing to make the 3 hour trip to do it again.

Alright people, in the works to try to put something together here in WV. I will post more info as I get it and then we can start looking at who might be interested and dates.
 
Y'all need to stop bumping this thread. Everytime I see it, I think tradewater is sending me an interest check.
 
I'm up for Mark Twain for sure. I've also spent a good amount of time on the Currant. That wasn't much help was it. LOL

I've never been on Currant, I dunno if it's big enuff to run my jonboat or not. I may have to borrow/buy a smaller boat/canoe/kayak. Or just float on a tractor tube.
 
Got three trips shaping up in different locations. Dandies too. :D All three look like a hike-in camp followed by a day on the water.

Right now looking at a trip in Missouri/Arkansas area (Buffalo National River), Kentucky/TN area (Big South Fork of the Cumberland) and one in West bygod Virginia (the New river gorge). Just a start, and feel free to toss out suggestions. Input is good.
 
and by horrible coincidence, getting there by way of Rogers, Ark. only adds 30 minutes worth of drive time, plus whatever time I spend in a certain knife emporium... (going through Springfield is theoretically the fastest route, but there are 2 stops I would have to make there...Grizzly & Pass Bro)
we going to be looking at a Thursday or Friday arrival for this?
