Introducing The 535 Bugout

My Rogue Bladeworks CF Scales have arrived and hopefully will have them installed on the Bugout sometime this weekend.
These scales are really nice and well made !

Good stuff! Of course, pic's are next in order. :)
Absolutely !
Going to the movies to see that new blade runner movie and also theres some UFC action going on tonight.
All that mixed in with normal weekend chores lol.
But I'm sure I'll still find some time to install them :D

Has anyone tried removing the blue anodizing from the thumbstuds? I am also planning to get a set of the Rogue handle scales and I'm fine with the blue standoffs, but would prefer a silver thumbstud.

I would just call their CS line and ask for a set of silver studs. I like everything about the 535 except for that one detail.

I never thought of that. I didn't realize Benchmade would send out thumbstuds. I'll give them a call this week. Thanks for the tip.

I gotta tell you guys, I'm seriously loving this knife. The more I use it the more I love it. I don't feel the knife at all in my gym shorts and it's just a great utility blade around the house.

That's great man !
I have to run a few errands and when I get home I'm going to tackle putting on my Rogueworks CF grips on my Bugout
Wish me luck lol it'll be the first time I've disassembled a benchmade and I heard that can be challenging.
We shall see :D

Good luck man. The pivot can be a little tricky but its not too bad.

Well looks like there's going to be a little delay . Of course it's always the last screw which it was . Stripped out:(
So now it looks like I'll have to drill it out and get a hold BM for a replacement screw . All of them had a nice little snap and then came loose. I was thinking how nice that BM used just the right amount of loctite . Then I got to the last screw to remove holding the axis lock in place . Felt a little more resistance then I like so in fear of stripping it I heated up with a blow dryer and got it good and hot . Still no luck so heated it some more and gave it another try and gave it a little more downward pressure and firmer twist and didn't hear that nice snap of victory but instead and little movement. To my disappointment yup she's stripped . I was very very cautious and conscious not to do this but emabarasngly enough it happened. BM must of got a little more aggressive on the loctite on this one screw or went to a permanent loctite for what ever reason on this last scew holding the axis assembly in place. It should of loosened up with the heat but it didn't. So anyway depending how long it takes to get another screw from BM its been delayed probably until the next weekend or so .
Very disappointed in BM for cranking this screw down so tight and an using an excessive amount of loctite causing the screw to strip out .
Well it is what it is and I'll keep you guys posted

Also after taking a closer look it appears this screw is at a slight angle and might of been cross threaded and which is why they might of went to permanent loctite if they did and over tightened it

Thats a double bummer man...Once you drill out that screw, for time being, maybe you could take a screw from one of your others that are not being used.

Thanks and not a bad idea except for the fact the only other BM is this 551-1701 I just received a few days ago that I've been carrying. I just don't have the heart to pull one of her screws lol . I'm also a little gun shy and the way my lucks been going I'd probably strip that one too.

Well then, you have a nice looking 551 to fill in until the screw shows up, all is good.
