Introducing The 535 Bugout

TheFactor TheFactor dude that sucks.
Good news I was able to drill it out to get a Bite on it and got her out and also found some extra BM clip screws in my spare parts stash and just had to cut it down to the right length . But it was a challenge with that little rascal lol .
So the assembly progress with new scales is back in action
Here's a pic of the cross threaded screw and do you think they used enough loctite from hell lol no wonder it wouldn't come loose !!
Fortunately the base of the axis lock was not cross threaded and stripped so its accepting the new cut screw .
Sorry for the blurry picture but I'm on a mission to get this baby back to together .

Well guys still trying to line the blade up with the pivot and it doesn't want to pop in . I'll tell you what its been the adventure from hell. I think they should of named this knife the little bugger instead of bugout lol !!!!

I've had similar issues. There's a sweet spot. Keep working it and you'll find it.

There sending me out new scales . Excellent customer service !You can see from this picture the only way you can pop the pivot threw is to have have the axis lock off and its pushing on the blade stop because of the angle .

TheFactor, that's a bummer about the scales and all your other trials. Glad they are making it right. The Bugout really grows on you. I got mine for occasional use and find myself carrying it more and more.

Yes it's been a adventure and a half .
I lost 5 hours of my life I'll never get back of frustration lol . Rogueworks has first class customer service though and I totally understand these things can happen . There known for top class high quality work so this is just one of those rare occasions .
There second to none Customer service also makes up for everything. Also 3 or 4 hours of my adventure was getting that cross threaded screw out that had been cemented in with loctite from BM .

UPDATE
RougeWorks has offered to assemble my knife with new scales replace any stripped screws and put everything back to factory specs.
How's that for Customer service!!
Also they replied to all my questions within minutes on a Sunday night not even during business hours
Now that's some first class customer service.
Keep in mind I'm sure this was a one time deal though because of my situation and there kindness.
Just wanted to clarify so folks didn't think they did this for free on a regular basis .

In a time where we have grown accustomed to little or No customer service, it's good to hear a different tune. I know little about RW as a vendor, but I do like what I'm seeing so far. I'm hoping to see more stories like this one, and hope for a good ending to this project.

Glad to see such great customer service. That being said I'm not sure there is a issue with the scales, maybe just an assembly process difference. I have assembled many Benchmade's and am a small engine tech so I see things differently. The blade for me is the last thing to get assembled on these blade and washers last. Assemble knife add scales and I leave them a tad loose on screws till the very end. I dab lubricant to the blade/washers to keep them togeather slide them in, line up with tooth pick while putting the pivot through from the outside. While holding the axis bar back so it stays out of the way.
Not trying to say this is the case but just putting info out in case someone stumbles along looking for assembly tips. Maybe a tutorial could be made in the future.

The pivot hole was off and made the blade off center when hitting the blade stop .So it wouldn't line up I actually spent hours taking different steps and options .

ok, my bad. I just misread the picture. Looked like the pressure from the axis bar was forcing the blade off against then stop pin without the other side there to keep it lined up.
