Introducing The 535 Bugout

A little technical info on the scales. Ours are actually slightly thinner than factory approx. .122 where factory is around .130 Weight is almost identical to the factory version but being much more rigid as the liner uses the scales structurally in this model. If you add one of our carbon fiber clips to the scale package it is so slightly lighter than the factory version.

Those CF scales do look great. Do they make the knife lighter or heavier?

1.95 oz on my scale with factory clip. Forgot to weight the original before transplant for comparison.

Like I said before, this is probably the best upgrade ever done to any knife I've owned. What a great EDC package!

How long before someone makes Ti scales for this thing?

At around $100 I think they would sell like crazy and you’d have an excellent full Ti axis lock knife for around $200.

I'm hoping that we might see some from Flytanium in the near future. They just introduced a set for the Large Griptilian.

Actually carrying my 531 right now. My Bugout has been my work EDC since I got it though. That said I do think I'd like it better if it had some G10 scales & a bit more heft. Balance is just a bit more blade forward than I'm use to.

We are making Titanium as well. It won't be 100.00 as we make all of our stuff here in the USA and the Fly brand are made in China so they can price much cheaper.

ScottK ScottK I've heard they assemble effortlessly .
It's also nice you don't feel any sharp edges on the inside of the scales when grabbing a firm grip when cutting creating a total hot spot

As a bit of collector and enjoy my benchmades more than any other brand.
Now I have sold of all of my plastics handle knives, grips etc,
And now only have G10 grips .or aluminum
The plastic grips are like a toy and sound hollow, therefore the g10 handle grips sound much much better built, just saying like.just my opinion of benchmade.
Hence never gonna buy one.

The plastic grips sure put me off buying this knife from new.
And I'm not gonna buy it for to put new scales on it DUH.

Is it possible to have you make your scales and add the pocket clip holes for ambi carry? Why no love for lefty's

They do offer a left hand clip option (DLH - drilled for left hand), you just have to select it from the drop down menu when you order.

I'm starting to come to the conclusion that I need those CF scales as well. Too many nice photos. Please stop.
