Introducing the "CKCA" (Custom Knife Collector’s Association)

One more of the many talents of STeven Garsson......

By the way, Steven, saw your PM only last night. Will talk to you
at the BLADE Show.

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

David, I also sent a pm while ago but really its not important whatsoever. Just me blabbing on about something. :) So dont worry about it at all.

The CKCA show badge is now complete. Our logo in center,Black and Orange. Really a great look, we'll be very easy to identify. We hope to have them ready for Blade.

I have very high hopes for this organization and extend my congratulations to all who have taken a leading role in moving it forward.

STeven - that logo rocks - great job.

Bob - terrific job on the web site.

Roger

CKCA show badges will be ready for Blade. Join at blade and get show badge the same day. Every thing is going super.

I would like thank each of you that have joined the CKCA since this thread was posted.

I also wanted to clarify something regarding our on-line application process. The website "Join the CKCA" page http://www.customknifecollectorsassociation.com/Membership.html has a two part process for applying and membership payment on-line via Paypal.

First, fill out the application in full, Submit then come back to "website; "join the CKCA" proceed to the Paypal button representing the membership level for which you choose to join. You will need to fill out much of the same information again for Paypal. Sorry, however this is unavoidable as they are both separate entities. The complete process only takes a few minutes.

In addition, I would like to insure you that ALL information supplied to the CKCA will be held in strict confidence and not be shared to any one or group.

I would like to thank you in advance for helping us build this into a great organization.

By the way that's Dan Farr and Roger Pinnock in the graphics bar below.

Great to see this coming true! I was a big fan of the original idea.

I managed to register in your new forum but I guess I am not allowed to post. Will it be restrict to members only?

Great that you are coming onboard, Jeff, making posts will be limited to members only.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Posting is restricted to members only. Anyone will be able to read.

Hopefully more folks will join soon so that the forum will start to see a little action.

Ok, thanks for the info. I would suggest that you make that clear in the Forum Rules area so that the info is out there.

I will have to wait for some time to get that extra money to join, but I will most certainly do that.

Congrats to all involved in the project!

This is the second paragraph from the Forums page:

"CKCA members will have full access to the forums. New members must first setup their forum profiles using their full names. This name must match the name submitted with the registration form. Once payment is verified and the new member has created his/her forum profile, all restrictions will be removed. Non-members and guests, you will have read only access to the forum. "

Geez... my bad man!

In any case... still think forum rules topic would do good.

Will be there with you all after a few weeks (or months).

I put an alert to this via PM to the Webmaster....you should get an answer shortly.

Would be honored to have you as a member Jeff.

Erick, glad we were able to get you up and running on the forum.

We just assigned membership numbers yesterday. Everyone who has joined since the initial post of this thread should have received their number yesterday via e-mail. Please register on the forum if you have not done so and try to post. If you can't please contact us and we will attack the problem. Members that join between now and the Blade Show please allow 48 hours after I send your welcome/confirmation e-mail to get full access to the website/forum.

Please keep in mind that the website and forum are still being developed as our official CKCA launch date and membership drive is scheduled for the Blade Show.

We have been very busy trying to set up the organization, bank account etc., creating CKCA logos, membership cards, badges, promotional fliers and such. We are on schedule to kick-off @ Blade Show. Remember our seminar @ 10:00am on Sunday June 1 in room 108.

Today I received the JR Cook Blue Bayou Hunter and tooled leather sheath that we will draw for at the seminar. It's a beauty. Each member will receive one chance and you don't have to be present to win.

Thanks for all your interest.

Would be honored to have you as a member Jeff.

Thank you Kevin, in fact I have already sen´t my registration and fee through Paypal.

Though the way I see it I don´t quite fit in any category, by the way. I am not a professional maker, just a hobby maker who hasn´t made 2 knives last year. I am not a dealer anymore, and I am certainly not a collector, as I only have knives made by me. Media? I wish... but the two times I wrote stuff to knife magazines I got screwed and my articles were published under someone else´s name... so I don´t think I qualify either:).

Maybe you should add a "others" category. LOL

Well anyway, I am honored to join and hope I can help the group from here.
