Is A Bussy Knife A ***** Knife?

Ok guys... I don't think all this is needed here. Frank is a jackass. Enough said. I'm sure he means well but all of his comments make him sound like a blow hard. No one here thinks he is a knife expert (that's probably because of the fact that he's NOT one). No one thinks he has ever been in a fight with a bear. Though I vigorously welcome him to try. I would love to see how that turns out. And I seriously doubt, even though he thinks at the ripe old age of 51 that he can sink a big knife all the way into a human, that he has ever been in an actual fight with a knife and been forced to kill a man. I know people like him. He wants attention. He is not educated enough to make any kind of observations about these knives that our more learned forumites haven't aleady made... Like our Buddy Cliff Stamp ( who has made just about all of the educated remarks here). I have no idea how much it costs Jerry to do the asymmetrical grind. But they are his knives and bottom line if you want them, you're gonna have to pay what he wants. And Sir, even though you may be at the ripe old age of 51 I doubt you have as much experience in the knife industry as our friend Jerry Busse. Does the choil really suck? I don't think so. How did Jerry come to the decision to add it??? Not by scratching his head and thinking "why the hell not?". He looked towards those poeple who depend on their knives to save their very lives. So just going on the sad fact that you don't like it... I think the choil is here to stay. Should you want a knife without it, you are more than welcome to have one made in the custom shop at Busse COMBAT and pay much much more than the knife you already hinted at being too expensive. I think Cold Steel knives are great. But they are mass-produced by a corporation. It takes one hell of a knife maker to take on a Company with as much power and wealth as Cold Steel and consistantly make a better product with his own two hands. One man versus 1,000 machines and factory workers. Damn! that's impressive. So my requst to my fellow Busse loving brothers and sisters is to let this die. He will go away as his type generally does.

Im sorry rfrost but I cant agree with ya. My problem with him had nothing to do with being a Busse Fanatic. (Yea I know fanatics never think thier fanatics) buttt I would have felt the same way about this thread if the subject name were changed to Spyderco or Randall or anyone else. Guy goes to a manufacturer Forum and posts is Busse a ***** knife. Well what the hell is ***** mean ?! Must be troll talk ? Then comes to find that he hasnt used it yet. This was all conjecture. Some percieved weakness we identified from the comfort of our living room. Come on I wouldnt dig that no matter who the manufacturer. Even Maddog !! Even dare I say Lynn Grifith !

He could have posted, as many others have, a review either here or in Reviews and within that review posted what he felt the knifes strengths and weaknesses were. Including his idiosyncratic issues with the choil. And that is that. Straight forward reporting! No the subject title and post were a weeee bit inflamatory.

Frank,
You said quote "You can't copyright
or trademark an existing word and then sue other for using it. Period. The judge and jury
has already spoken on this one, guys, and the most powerful and richest man in America
with armies of lawyers can't make that one fly either. End of that story."

Am I wrong, or did Harley-Davidson trademark the name HOG?????? Wouldn't that be an existing word???????

I'm inclined to agree. I know nothing of Busse knives, and given the petty childish responses here to Frank's evaluation, I'd have to say I want NOTHING to do with them if this is the caliber of people who own such equipment.

The attitude and approach leave me cold. If one is so insecure in the object they own that ALL they can do is attach when someone speaks of that product in less than glowing terms, I'm lead to wonder about the security of that individual.

This matter has run its course and is out of gas.

Most of the discussion has been quite informative, funny, and in some cases, personal. However, the continuation of this thread will only bring previously mentioned issues back to light and dead horses back to life in my view.

At this point, the thread will be locked pending a reopening if the Busse Team finds it worthwhile.

My thanks to all who have contributed.

Please refrain from starting a new thread regarding this matter.
