Or , optionally attach to your rifle as a weapon (bayonet ) .you hold in your hand as a tool.

But for the sake of argument, "simple machine" is not the same as "machine" - which was the topic of discussion above.
A manual tool such as a knife of the type we are discussing here has never been referred to by anyone I have encountered in the past five decades as a "machine" - which requires an external power source for movable parts.
