Is Predator the greatest knife movie ever made?

There is a new movie coming out in 2010 called "The Expendables" with Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Eric Roberts, Steve Austin, Randy Couture and cameos by Arnold Schwarzeneggar and Bruce Willis. Looks like it is going to be a real tough guy shoot em up with some cool cars and choppers thrown in too.

Just re-watched "Predator" for the Nth time last night as a result of this thread.

I was particularly impressed with Arnie's ability to slice through the generator pulley belt with a single cut (at the rebel camp.) These were traditionally made of very thick bull hide leather so his knife sharpening skills are even more to be appreciated. I wonder if that was a light saber he was using...

Ha! ...I think that knife was steroid powered.

Scariest looking knife fight, Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995). The cinema version.

Apparently some of the DVD versions censor the knife fight:

Although the UK cinema version was intact all video releases suffered 2 mins 1 sec of BBFC cuts. Among the cuts were shots of... and heavy edits to all scenes featuring closeups and glamorized use of knives.

The US Region 1 DVD, amongst others, restores the violence/knife play missing from the UK edition, but it is rumoured there is still some footage that apparently is missing due to MPAA interference.

First Blood is the greatest knife movie ever.

Predator is and always will be a kickass movie.

Jack Crain is one of the worlds finest knifemakers
and yes he is a crook. I have dealt with Jack before
and if his business ethics were as good as his knife
work nobody could ever say anything negative about
him. It's really very sad. He has such terrific talent
but he's ruined his reputation by screwing people out
of their money.

I have in my private collection a Crain Mcs and it is
one fantastic piece of work/art and is second to none
in overall quality and workmanship. Jack's knives
are simply beautiful.

Very brief, but in "Perfect Weapon" Jeff Speakman carries two Daggers (Gil Hibben design). One is Black, one polished. He makes a martial point by lobbing the silver "flashy" one to distract the enemy's focal point, then throwing the black one and sinking it in the bad guys chest.
Not to mention, Jeff is one bad mother. Trained by Ed Parker and probably one of the fastest guys I've seen since Bruce Lee. That is, fast AND lots of force applied on impact. Most any one can be just fast and flowery - Jeff is/was the real deal.

I don't go to the movies very often, but that one I'll go see.

Absolutely the best general martial arts movie made. I studied at Parker's studio on Foothill Blvd. (Or was it Walnut Blvd... it was the 60's and I can't remember much :) ) back in the late 60's, having several of our classes with the great man himself. Jeff Speakman is the embodiment of this style of martial arts. As Parker used to say "Don't just punch, when you can punch, kick, elbow, and punch again!"

John Wayne - Big Jake, breaks out the auto and throws it to have the sheep herders cut down.

James Caan - El Dorado, Saloon Fight

James Coburn - The Magnificent Seven, Sticks that knife right by that guys head.

Not huge knife movies but some great knife scenes indeed.
