Is the spyderco Military worth the price tag?

I think it is one of the best slicers out there.

100 on a scale of 1-100.

You won't regret buying it. If you do - you could easily sell it.

A LOT of knife with very little weight.

This coming from someone who likes to carry the ZT 0301 and ZT MUDD all the time!!

Liner lock on mine has been great.

100/100

I've had lots of knives - Cold Steel, Benchmade, Kershaw, Emerson, etc. and the Spyderco Military, Emerson CQC-7 and RAT RC-3 are my main carry knives, depending on what I'm wearing.

The Military is the lightest (and fastest!) knife of its size that I've handled.

I've had one for a few years and like it a lot. It's the knife I reach for when I need a light weight folder with a large blade.

I'll definitely get the titanium handled version.

100 out of 100. Like the man said, try one and I'll buy it from you if you don't like it.

I find it fast, light, and strong (so long as I don't pry with it.)

Definetly worth it! I consider it the best large production folder available today.

I can't think of any folder that offers more value to the price tag as a Milli. Too bad all Spydercos are imported through Adola in Holland, a bunch of extortionists.

But, this one I received in a trade last week is my very favorite. The Ti takes it to an entirely new level. Makes the good ol Mil a much solider beast and it's lock is amazing. Has a lip that is exactly fitted over the top of the tang base, makes the knife lock-up so solid and tight, gotta love it!

Damit, people are getting these in trade already? I've had one pre-ordered for 6 months, with no sign of it coming soon.

Value is a somewhat subjective thing, but considering its materials, workmanship and resell value, it is considered "worth it" my most knife enthusiasts.
I bought a D2 Green G-10 for my son to take with him to Iraq (USMC), but it got lost somewhere between Kuwait and Iraq. I think the clip may not have been strong enough to keep it in his pocket as he hoisted his gear.
To me, it was a bit large for my hand and uses, but all in all a very fine knife.

I've never held the Military but from my experience all Spyderco's are worth the money. It's just a matter of whether you prefer certain models over others.

I find the Military is quite a light, thin handled knife for it's size. However I find it very irritating that it only allows tip down carry. I like lanyards, and of course tip down puts the lanyard down your waistband or at the bottom of your pocket.
With all the handle and steel variations Spyderco has used with this knife I can't understand why they make no provision for tip up carry.
Anyway, because they don't ,I don't carry my Military much so at least it stays pristine.

I put an S90V blade in my Ti Military. It increased the weight from 118gms to 162gms over the Carbon fiber rig, but the lock up is much more substantial. I am set up to drill and tap the butt end of the handle for a tip up carry, but the clip curves in the opposite direction that the handle does.

I just figured out that I need a pocket clip off of a left-handed Military. Do they make such an animal. I know there is a left handed Sebenza, but its clip is not curved.

The grip is too thick on the Military, I guess because it has no metal liner and with no liner, I really don't trust this knife. I replaced it with the Spydie Police. A little heavier but a much more solid feel, at least to me. I also much prefer the blade shape of the Police over the Military.

Mr. Wilson

I hate to come off as contrary, my friend, but all current Military folders come with dual nested partial liners. When combined with the G10 or carbon fiber handle, you have a strong, lightweight handle that you would need a 'cheater bar' to break.
