Is there any knife/brand you’re drooling on, but don’t take the plunge?

I am having a hard time with some knives, of some european brand. A hard time because I like them, but I know they have been prone to huge issues. I love the design, the colors and the materials, the knife is expensive (around $300) but still manageable… They often go into my shopping cart, but ultimately I remove them. But I want one so bad, it’s obsessive!

Am I the only one suffering from this? Do I need an analyst instead of yet another cutting tool?

Please no brand bashing, keep it civilized :)

I do, but it is mostly a financial decision.
I have come to terms with the fact that I like knives and I am willing to spend money for what I want. The only down side is that I tend to want what is out of my reach, sonic live vicariously through those that are able (or more willing) to afford them.

I lucked out and found a Sebenza on the exchange with a Very sentimental date and I happened to be the first of 5 to commit to the purchase. There were 7 made on that day, so mine isn't going anywhere.
It is my most expensive knife and I use it, albeit, only on special occasions now.

Recently, I've been having an eyes-only relationship with the SHY folders from Stedemon, specifically the tanto blades. The prices stop me, though: they're effectively charging $300 extra for one-piece titanium handles on top of the price of the knife in G10 (which, admittedly, seems like a reasonable deal). For that price I remain far from convinced that a large Sebenza with some sick inlays or maybe a smaller Busse is not a wiser investment.

Really want to try a Shirogorov but the prices are quite large. I have a $450 and a $400 Benchmade and they are very rare occasion knives. My edcs are in the $200-300 range and they do their jobs amazingly. Hard to justify the 1k for the same blade steels that I already have in $200-300 knives.

I am wanting to finish off my collection with an 11 inch Frank Beltrame automatic stiletto, an Mcusta Tactility, and an Al Mar HD Eagle. I have trying to stay below $100 for the last few years.

Total and complete super sloppy uncontrollable drool over Rockstead.....let me wipe my chin!!!
Joe

I would love to have a Randall Model 15 Airman and a Model 18 Survival but, I don't have these for obvious reasons. Maybe if I win the lottery. :p

Rockstead, just like everyone else:D
I' m also really liking the look of the Three Sisters Forge Beast but they' re hard to find here in Europe.

Currently a benchmade 940-1. It's just such a chunk more than the standard 940, but I'm drooling and will likely have one within a month or two....

I've been drooling over a Beck WSK for ages (many many years really :o)... just can't justify the money.... (yet )

I am in the market for a CRK Mnandi, drooling over the pictures constantly. lol
Very soon I will be pulling the trigger, once I decide on the configuration I like most.
Cheers!

Speaking of CRK, I have been eyeballing the Elemental Ti-Lock...

A few of the Medford models, the MSC Jibble and I've been eyeballing Rockstead lately.
Price and justifying cost vs worth in my own mind have held me back.

I really want an authentic SS knife with the chain and scabbard. With nice ones worth owning starting at around $5000 all the way to 20,000 Im just not gonna do it. I do have a nice Hitler youth knife though thats never been sharpened in decent shape for being from 1936.
