Is there any knife/brand you’re drooling on, but don’t take the plunge?

The Spyderco Slysz Bowie. I honestly believe it's the perfect knife for me. I just can't bring myself to paying that amount. It's just not reasonable knowing that the K2 has the same Ti handles, but larger and a far superior bladesteel, yet is over 100 cheaper.

Stopped buying safe queens years ago so the gorgeous Rockstead Don-ZDP will never happen.

I have wanted a Daniel Winkler fixed blade to use...for many years. Even spoke with him about a build but have never pulled the trigger.

I drooled on the Rockstead and pulled the trigger. It will probably remain a safe queen or until I find a buyer. I think they are nicely made knives but I wish Rockstead used titanium instead of steel and maybe lowered their price at around 20 percent. I think they would sell much more.

I ordered a Rockstead Hizen but had problems with the distributor I was buying from shipping to my work UPS box. Think Ill order a Higo (through adiffrent company) sometime early 2017 though. Ill use the crap out of it :D

I started a thread on who have used their Rocksteads but it didn't get much input. With the Rockstead being my most expensive folder I'm a bit hesitant to use it. I have other good production knives that are doing a fine job. I've held my Higo a number of times and I agree it's a smooth action folder and it looks rally rancor sharp. If you are interested, I may part with mine for a lesser price $100 less than retail. If not, I may just use it and write about it later. Once used, it will be registered and comfortably abused.
I wonder if there any other production folders that cost in the same price range of Rockstead.

I really don't see me ever being able to justify the expense, but I'd love one of these.

Rockstead SHU

Shouldn't have come into this thread looking...
This one checks every box for me. Absolutely perfect, except for the price:eek:

Is it YXR7 or ZDP? I tend to be really hard on knives which has me leaning towards the YXR7, but since getting some use out of ZDP on my 0450cfzdp within the past month I'm falling in love with it as well. But that DLC finish on the YXR7 also has me drooling.

Rockstead is one of these brand I'm wondering if I should take a plunge or not. I have a feeling I'll be disappointed by the lack of beefiness and by the grip.
Anyway enough Rockstead advertising :)

For me it's a Kizer. I'm not a huge fan of things made in China, though I'm sure my home is full of them. Even though I've read many wonderful reviews I still have that feeling in the back of my mind about some of the crap that is made there. I'm sure I'll pull the trigger on a Gemini soon, but it's taken several hours of doing my homework only to get just about to do it and then...cold feet.

Me too, the Kizer Gemini has almost happened so many times over the past year. Problem for me is that I couldn't carry it here due to knife laws and it's too much dough for a desk knife.

YXR7. It's smoother than any of my other folders.

You should use and abuse it! Iv been carrying/abusing my first crk (and first blade in s35vn) for about a month now and am loving it. But I do find it fun to EDC/abuse a different steel each month. If you're not using (or even decide to sell used) and haven't sold it in a few months I might be interested.

I want a Ramon Chaves Rendicion 228--the one w/ the solid titanium handles, without the holes. I like its simplicity and beefiness. (not a custom, just the regular half-grand production one is fine)

You again , Ratman ? Haha.

That's the exact Chaves I want. The one without the holes.

Ya. A knife by TK Steingass. Its a serious drool too. It's just a matter of time till he gets my money. Sometimes it's the money, sometimes it's the handle or the size or something. They are all beautiful, but one day he's gonna post up something i'm just not gonna be able to pass on.

I have been putting this one off for a long time. Soon.

Really want to try a Shirogorov but the prices are quite large. I have a $450 and a $400 Benchmade and they are very rare occasion knives. My edcs are in the $200-300 range and they do their jobs amazingly. Hard to justify the 1k for the same blade steels that I already have in $200-300 knives.

I got my Shirogorov Hati in M390 for around 600 brand new, few months ago.Worth every dollar.

I'm really starting to drool over the Fully Custom ADV Butcher they're so pretty, starting to look at a Masterblaster also, and I wouldn't mind a couple Olamic Wayfarer in Elmax and contoured Titanium with some Timascus or Carbon Fiber with Timascus. Sadly financial capability is holding me back especially with college coming around the corner.

Threads like these are great. Also terrible because I leave them wanting more than I wanted when I opened them. So far I've been thinking about getting either a

-940s-1
-Something from Fiddleback Forge (depends on how much I have when I find it)
-CRK 21 Tanto or Insingo Micarta
-SMF
-XM-18 M390
-CRK Umnumzaan
-Bradford Guardian 5 or 6

I'm sure there is something else and hopefully I don't remember because it's been difficult to narrow it down this far. Let me know what I should get, guys.

Maybe add Shirogorov to the list, great blade.

They are very nice but just a little out of my price range. Don't get me wrong I'll spend up to 600 for a folder I like but I think that's the limit.

For the price I would rather have 4 or 5 CRK or Hinderers with maybe some ZT and Benchmade in the mix somewhere for the average Shirogorov price. If I end up getting a raise or win the lottery, I promise I will pick one up :D
