Is there any knife/brand you’re drooling on, but don’t take the plunge?

Extrema Ratio.... just can't make myself pull the trigger but damnit, I look at em literally every day for MONTHS now

I've been holding out on the Slysz Bowie. Not a rediculous price but very few found second hand. It's too similar in construction to the other titanium frame locks I own that it's a bit of an overlap. Plus the blade shape isn't ideal to me. So I've held off even though it gets great reviews.

Spyderco Slysz Bowie. I have much more expensive knives and I regularly buy knives more expensive but I can't justify paying $300 for a Taiwanese knife. Waiting for one to come up on the secondhand market

...to the guy who likes the Bowie, and there are lots of those guys around...Just sold my Slysz Bowie. It was still NIB, but I didn't particularly like the blade-shape. I held onto it for about a year, but never carried it...it sat in my knife-box...with other Spydies.
I am finally at the place where I will sell a couple of knives to get some cash...BEFORE I buy something new. It doesn't happen all of the time, but more often than it used to.
Fortunately, the Shiro and the Rockstead hold no interest for me...and I'm delighted. Neither have I (yet) felt the need for a Chinese folder, although I don't question the quality of the better companies.
I don't have a hankering for any particular folder at this point. One knife that I regret selling was a CRK slab-sided large Classic Sebbie that I carried for several years, and sold on a whim.
I still hit the Exchange several times each day, and occasionally am enticed by an old favorite. It's all good fun.

For me it's a Kizer. I'm not a huge fan of things made in China, though I'm sure my home is full of them. Even though I've read many wonderful reviews I still have that feeling in the back of my mind about some of the crap that is made there. I'm sure I'll pull the trigger on a Gemini soon, but it's taken several hours of doing my homework only to get just about to do it and then...cold feet.

I have been drooling over a Microtech UTX-70, in purple. There are a couple others, but it just isn't in the budget right now.

I got so tired of running in to closed books and hunting unicorns, I think I'm just going to stick to what I have, the secondary market or plain old production knives from now on :(

Interesting. I've been on the fence with the Slyz Bowie for a while now but every now and then come back to look and wonder if I'll like it in hand. The little Techno appeals to me more visually but I wonder if it would be too small in hand.

Bodega for sure, a few brands southern grind, kizer blade smith (I've had a couple from the vanguard series)

I have been drooling over a Fiddleback keppie or one of its siblings, Osprey Warthog or a WA Surles Georgie traveler.

The Benchmade 707-161 Gold Class. Siiiiiiiiiiiigh.
I have a soft spot for the 707 Sequel as a smaller gentlemans knife. And this 161 looks like the best offering ever in the 707 lineup (IMO).
However , I feel that $1000 is just ridiculous for said knife. Especially if one intends on actually carrying it and using it.
But I guess since most Gold Class knives are aimed toward collectors , the $1000 price tag may be reasonable to them (collectors). But something that nice I'd want to carry.

Not a big money item & not hard to come by, but I've been looking at the small Bark Rivers, like the Mini Fox River, Woodland Special. I just haven't pulled the trigger yet. I have a Bradford Guardian 3 & have grown to like the small fixed blades for edc.

Small Sebbie... to get one in Damascus and full inlays it would be a month's wage... no way I could afford it with a baby to care for...

No. For me it is the opposite. I have bought knives of brands that I like but not drool over. At this point, I find myself searching for knives that will make me drool.

I just took the plunge on a Rockstead Hizen because of the two lovely gents on page 1 :D
Will be here some time next week.

Bachelor life is wonderful.
