It’s 2021 and Hinderer is still discriminating

I guess his slip joint is ambi.

However, I agree with the OP. CRK forever!!!!! Skrew all other manufacturers who unfairly, and I mean unfairly, discriminate against left handed people. I don't buy their stuff. There is a 10th level of the underworld reserved for lefty discriminators and marketing people.

I understand if a small scale maker doesn’t make a lefty model. It probably is a pain and pricey to get a second set of molds and tools etc.

however, Hinderer is one of the biggest in the industry!

I mean werent these knives made for the fire fighters / EMT people in mind? Surely there are some left handed fire fighters out there amiright?

I'm a lefty, and for some reason, buying a "left handed" or "right handed" knife has never crossed my mind. BUT, I do some things right handed, and a LOT of things a weird mixed up way of both LH & RH.
Having said that, I completely get that some of us "Correct Handed" guys would want a knife that works in their left hand. Nowadays with CNC machinery, it really wouldn't be a big deal to make mirror image parts. The blade would likely be the same. The liners maybe, too. Flip the handles, maybe the lock mechanism, (not familiar with Hinderers), add more clip mounting holes, and go. Even if it was a special production run for a little more money....

Lefties matter ! :p

Seriously , I much prefer ambidextrous designs .

I carry 2 knives , both left and right front pocket . So one is essentially lefty .:thumbsup:

Have a boyhood friend of mine of 50 years that has found a great solution for himself to resolve the conflict of being a left hand dominate guy. He worked on it long enough to be nearly completely ambidextrous! No kidding! He gave up years ago trying to find "left oriented" tools, gadgets, gear, etc., and just made his mind up that it wouldn't be a stopping point for him. Guess it worked out... he became a cargo pilot, then an airline pilot, then a pilot shuttling troops overseas under private contract, a hobby race car driver, and now trains pilots at Flight Safety in Dallas, TX.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. I was never as determined or had that much ambition, but I would love to be ambidextrous.

Robert

I'm more ambilefterous than true lefty. 30 plus years of carrying, I'm used to carrying right side, though either works for me. However, I refuse to carry tip down unless it's an OTF.

I liked that my ZT 0561 could be carried lefty, so why can't Hinderer at least tap the scales that way. Especially considering how much they cost.

I've been thinking about switching to lefty simply to give more pocket room for a pistol in my shorts. Then again I could left pocket carry too. Doesn't matter I shoot equally well left or right.

As of 2017, Hinderer had 15 employees. They aren't one of the biggest in the industry.

I don't think we should punish the defective innocent left-handed individuals by denying them access to useful tools. Maybe manufacturers could charge a small, reasonable markup for the added tooling and manufacturing cost related to making wrong-handed left-handed variants of their products? I'm thinking something like this:

I would buy it as-is if it were an auto. Not much about that I don't like...

If I had to guess, it would be the xm-18 3.5”

while I personally would prefer a 3” XM-18 I won’t complain!

I hope there is a mix of blade styles. But if he only makes 1 style I’ll still be happy.

I don’t want to be too pushy like beggars can’t be choosers ya know? But we shall see!
