It followed me home (Part 2)

That is some good stuff there Looking4lunkers.

I like the two-man log carrier. Is it marked by any chance?

Thanks Fellas, its in really decent shape. Ill give the handle a quick sand, oil it up and put her to work. I just looked at it quick because I wasn't sure if its something that would even have markings on it. I'll give it another going over tomorrow

You never know.

Hard to tell a Peavey/Cant "hook" from a log carrier "hook" when they are separated.

Definitely tools that say teamwork.

Picked up a Snow and Nealley October 1 1952 3 lb DB for a song and a dance today (though the center of the eye has been used as a hammer and is slightly dented, it shouldn't pose an issue to hang it), and a 3 lb TBA (made by Emerson and Stevens) Jersey the other day.

Square_Peg don't look! :D I actually forgot to post a 255lb Thomas Hill anvil I picked up last weekend for $320. Here it is.

And this stuff today for $300 total! The anvil is a yet to be unidentified 165lb English anvil. Aside from the chip it is good and the price made it OK. The forge is hand crafted but well done and a good size.

It's a #1 Mortar Pan for brick layers.

It's a little light for a forge. Lining it with clay or refractory cement would fix it. The bottom has already burned thru once and been patched.

I like those old hand crank blowers. You can't forget to turn off the blower.

I agree that it is too light, but it isn't burned through- that heavier plate was added and the grate and piping are directly attached to it. I think that these guys knew that they needed thicker stock in that spot.

Since cant hooks showed up, I thought I would post one that followed me home as a no-name sans handle:

After a little cleanup with a wire wheel:

As best as I can tell it is stamped:
SNOW & NEALLEY CO
BANGOR MAINE

As to the handle (I don't run a logging operation here), it cost nothing, has not broken with use, and is easily replaceable.

Brand new house axes, anvils, log carriers and can't hooks. Its just getting to be to much. I need a drink.
