It followed me home (Part 2)

Doggone-it. Somebody went to all the trouble of burying their hatchet, and you had to dig it up. Now they've gotta go a-feuding again. :D

Maybe it looks as good as it does because it was buried when the Hatfield's and the McCoy's officially ended their feud back in 1979 in front of Richard Dawson on " family feud " 😁

My very first find $6 here in Australia.
Hytest challenger.

Alkaline soil preserves steel. While excavating a new home site back in the early 90's, we unearthed several pounds of square nails of all sizes. The nails looked to be from size 30, all the way down to #4. All of them were clean and like new, and could have been used as found. The homeowner said he had a pH of 10, and had to constantly add a lot of sulfur to his garden to grow anything. Nice find rockman!

Congrats! and welcome to the forum....now you have to decide do I need 1 or 2 axes....or 20. :)
Thanks mate. There may or may not be a professionally ground at 12.5 x 12.5 with a new spotted gum handle 5lb tassie pattern surprise following the mail man here in the next few days.
This thing is beautiful. And for the price i got it it was a steal.

This first head looks like a Mann made Collins to me.

The next one has an awesome shape. I don't know the logo.

Can't make out this Mark

The double has some eye abuse but it's old and mostly good. Another maker I don't know.

And this little guy, I don't know what to do with it. I'm afraid to clean it at all. Is it worth anything, probably not much. Should I just hang it on a nail on the wall?

So this followed me home from the mail box today.
The stamp has been lost and it has been painted blue at some stage of its life its still in great condition.$82 including postage and handling.
Total weight is just over 6lb.
Now judging from the size, pattern, pinned head on both sides and the fact that the seller was also selling a hytest black racer im gonna' go out on a limb here and say i just scored a restored hytest forester which usually go unrestored for 100 to 130.

Picked this old girl up after my thread a while back. She's stamped 4 1/2lbs, I'm debating what kind of handle I want. I still don't have a workspace, so carving one is out of the question. Maybe I'll splurge and get a replacement handle from Gransfors since HH has been letting me down. Then I can use it as a template down the road.

I apologize if these post very large.
