Jeez bit steep ain't it?

Looks like a great treasure trove but only if the prices aren't ott.

That is why I took a picture of it on his wall and not my bench lol.

I've noticed this lately around here. One of them actually said to me, "When I buy it, it's junk, when I sell it, it's treasure!"

If you ask one of them anything about an axe they really can't give you a reason why it is priced like that. I'm also sure that my questions are irritating to them.

My guess is that it's the accumulated damage from using it over the years with the toe hitting the ground, occasionally chipping because of rocks, and then unevenly filed/ground back at the toe to make it sharp again.
 
Lot of miles on that baby! With or without being filed in between. Another one of these instances of 'if only a tool could talk'. Even chopping into gravel would have taken many months/years of Sundays to wear like that.
