Those are all nice tools plus that looks to be a good sheath.

The 5lb with a 32”+ handle would make a good dedicated splitting axe.

yes sir --quality leather sheath usa made.....

yes that 5 pound axe would be --but a great wall hanger too....

These followed one of my tool hunters home. Anyone know what pattern the vaughn single bit is? Oh, and all this was free.

Had a job in the city the other day and every time I go there I stop by a few shops I know of. I found the Rixford 2.25 pound FS boys axe with what I believe is it’s original handle. Being in OK we don’t see many FS axes. This is my first. The pole has some mushrooming but you can see a lot of the stamp still and the year code. And on the opposite side the FS stamps are very clear. I think I am going to leave this one as is and leave the handle in it. The gentleman I bought it from said he brought it back from Colorado.

Here's a few things. The Townley db i bought from fleebey for 39 bucks w/ free shipping. I liked the etching and thought it would be cool to have. But I ended up with a twofer!

And (drum roll please)

It was impossible to see through the rust. Score! An original Garant and a 30" white ash handle. I've really gotten lax about posting new stuff. I've gotten so much recently i just haven't bothered!

I can fix this no problem. It's a real clean break and it'll take glue like a champ!

I'll, literally, keep you posted! I will do my best to test it/ break it with hard use. Not misuse but hard use. I'll hang that garant back on it and swing the hell out of it! It'll be interesting to see how long it lasts.

most of the time i glue it it cracks within 10 swings but i use titebond, i dont have any experience with gorilla, this should be some valuable info
The results will be interesting. If I were to try to repair something like this I would go with titebond also. Keep us posted Yankee.

After the glue dries, why not drill a couple holes and tap in some wooden dowels coated in gorilla glue also. Then when that dries, sand then down flush. ? Seems like that would have to increase the chances of it holding.
