It followed me home (Part 2)

After the glue dries, why not drill a couple holes and tap in some wooden dowels coated in gorilla glue also. Then when that dries, sand then down flush. ? Seems like that would have to increase the chances of it holding.
I find it cool that you would recommend that! That idea came to me about 11 o clock last night. I was trying to figure out what material i should use for the dowels.
But then i decided against it because i want to test the glue. There is an awful lot of force there and my confidence has wained a bit the more i think about it! I actually think it may break as I'm pounding on the handle while seating the head!
So I'm going to do a virgin, glue only test this time. But great idea! Next time...

If and when you decide to use dowels.
Try bamboo skewers. They are a hard wood and the grain always runs the length of the skewer. And they are small in diameter so you won’t need to drill out a large hole.

Results of glue test in "what did you rehang today" thread.
Wall hanger!?!? No way! Lol. Tomorrow after that glue is set up I'll sand it and rehang it. The gorilla glue once set is stronger than the wood anyhow so I'll not be afraid to use it.

Only have a couple things to show off, the result of a couple flea market stops over the last month. Got a "Collector's Guide to Axes Price Guide", dated in the 1970s but a good reference. Also a half-filled tin can of Minnesota brand linseed oil, no zip code on it for the mfr's address so it's gotta be 50 years old or more.

The axe heads are: left to right - USA-marked True Temper "Flint Edge", an unmarked military head, a Craftsman head, and a Collins hatchet head. All have minimal damage to the poll, and plenty of working edge on each.

Was given these guys here, I think the hatchet's a woodslasher, they're the ones with foil lables and green font right?

I'd like some help finding an Atkins catalogue, the handles are no.11s and the saw is about 3 foot, with 3 handle holes. I think it's an Atkins due to the handles.
