It followed me home (Part 2)

Do I see an ice cream scoop with thumb lever?
Superman haul JB

Kind of looks like one.
I've got a 100 year old Gilchrist from my grandmother that I use for ice cream and it works really well.
There's something different about it compared to using a modern one that I just can't place but I like it.

Very cool. I believe it works well...probably better than most made today.

It does, but I'm also thinking the nickel plated brass might have an effect on the flavor of the ice cream that I'm just used to.

If grandma served you ice cream with that scoop...it will never taste better for you than with that scoop.
My cousin had to have my grandmothers old green early '70's fry pan...she made him grilled cheese in as a kid. ;)

Nickel is a mineral and minerals are good for us, right? ;)

Gotta be ok...better than teflon flakes :thumbsup:

Yes, and mostly brass. I grabbed it because it was cool.

Aside from the axes and items that interest me most in your beauty haul...that ice cream scoop really drew my attention after my initial OMG axe excitement:)
The brass is awesome, i wonder how similar it is to the one Hickory n steel Hickory n steel has from his grandmother...

I have been meaning to ask...tell me about the drill.
3/8" ?
How long is it and make?

I am keeping my eye out for an older, 1/2", solid stainless like that.
Great score regardless, I would have scooped it too

It's a small RAM power, 1/4 Chuck
Single speed no reverse, and it's aluminum not stainless steel.

I don't know much about the brand but it's got a Jacobs Chuck at least and is definitely American made.

I had it apart to clean and re-grease it and didn't get the brushes in the exact way they came out, I've gotta carefully figure out exactly which way they were so it runs right.
Either that or replace them, I'm sure they're about due after 50 years or more.

I've got my grandmother's Avacado Green Club cast aluminum pans I use often.

Dang you guys! I love me some ice cream and it has been a few months. I deny myself because it makes me fat and then go on a bender. Just keep the tab open at the ice cream parlor type stuff...
Do you like mother's brand frosted circus animal cookies ?
If you do there's a mother's circus animal cookie ice cream that's a Sunnyside farms branded Foodmax exclusive.
I rarely get to have it, but next to Cookies and Cream it's my favorite.

Iv'e had to cut as much sugar from my diet as possible. It has not been too hard, except, giving up ice cream! There is a local coconut ice cream that knocks my socks off. It is called Tropical Dreams Ice Cream Co.,very expensive, like a fine wine, $12.00 for a 1/2 gal. I dont think I can live without it much longer.

For Christmas my daughter gave me a gift card to a new ice cream parlor in town. Just waiting for the weather to get warm to take my granddaughter with me. She probably had that all figured out when she gave me that gift card. Dads happy, daughters happy and she gets a break. Sometimes I think they manipulate me.....
