Picked up this Forest King axe at a antique store today. Was a quick fixer-upper. I was unable to save the handle. The part in the eye was all busted up.

It has a real nice profile.

Stoped by a second hand store comining back from Montana .Took a stop for gas decided to take a walk.

Holy crap! That's about the straightest Canadian I've ever seen. Doesn't look like it was ever used. Please don't tell me what a great deal you got - I don't think I could stand it.

Stopped by a place in Maine and picked up a few. Only one with markings that i can see (yet) is the third from the top - Snow & Nealley.

So here are some of the more recent acquires - but some of my favs so far.

These put me to #409 overall. :)

Picture of an original Forest King with paint and label, along with a Collins Legitimus bowie/machete -

Then a couple I Blood hewing axes - some real beasts - original handles - you should hear this metal ping - cant imagine using these all day -

Then 3 smalls - a Flint Edge connecticut - which is small - pretty much boys axe size - and the eye is a weird in between shape - havent found a handle yet for it - then also a Firstone Deluxe and a R King - will handle both of those and probably sell them.

And then my new favorite axe - Mann Edge True American - in rockaway pattern - this axe feels sooooo good to swing, balanced right on the handle, nice fawn swell, still original paint on it, lots of edge space toe to bit, - cant wait to use it.

Working on my garage now, built the walls and ran electric to it this weekend. Now have to run the circuits, insulate, and wall up.

Then on to hanging up axes all over the place........and pics of course!

Here that Plum is with a new life. Found the handle at a local hardware store.

How do you like swinging that bad boy so far? I love mine, I have never thrown such large chips with an axe until I started using mine.

I have not swung it yet. Was hoping to saturday but my wife made other plans for me.
Made me take her to the Highland games. It could have been alot worse:).

I found this PS on craigslist last week. $15 as it is.

Year is 1940.

Here's one I found at a garage sale last week. It's a no name cruiser. 8-3/8" head with a 36" haft. I'll clean this one up and keep it. With a 28" handle it'll be great for packing along on trail crew.

I like the fact that you can see the temper lines and that the tempered edges have resisted the pitting that affects the body of the axe.

That's a laminated bit: old axe probably 1920s or before.

Same with this one:
