You question what Karda has contributed to Customs & Handmade. I question what you have contributed to Bladeforums compared to what richard j has done for so many members.

Isn't this exactly the behavior Karda was moderating that got this whole business started in the first place?
When is it "fair"?
That's the mods' decision. That's the position they're in. They make the call. It's their job. Get the pacifier out of your mouth, man. This is only making you look worse.

When a moderator has a disdain for a certain part of the forum maybe it is best to not have him moderating that particular forum

Just a thought

My only comment was that I thought it was odd to post on a closed thread a comment not as a moderator but as someone participating in the thread

If he was acting as a mod so be it. Disregard my comment

I thought I was doing pretty well, seeing as how I've been moderating that forum for at least the last 6 months.
Nary a complaint until now, from certain people.

. Evidently, to a MOD the threads are never closed, and in some cases, as in this one, he says he didn't know it was closed. I read down to the end, saw it was closed by the op, and then later saw Karda's add on after it had been closed. Now? I don't have a *#@* clue what happened. I just know what I thought I saw. We're all grown men here, let's drop this.
 
Proving that someone possesses "disdain" is a lot like proving they are "arrogant" or that they did something with "ill-will". It's just not possible to discern with the available evidence that any of Karda's actions were taken in a spirit of malice. In fact, reading his defense of himself, I'm inclined to the opposite end of the spectrum. If those involved would clear their heads for THREE SECONDS and read without bias, they would see that. Karda hasn't responded in an immature way to any of this so far as I've seen. For being attacked incessantly as he has, I reiterate my surprise that he's handled himself so well.
Here's the bottom line: you're not a mod.
You don't decide what happens here. You're not paid for it, it's not your job, and you're not entitled to do so by bashing the authority. If you don't like the way its run, talk to the folks in charge. If you don't like how they handle it: pack your bags. It's really that simple.
This is an internet forum, and you agree to abide by its terms when you sign up. Period. End of story.
 
For the record: I don't always like what Karda has to say, but I recognize that he's not a malicious person. This is evident in how he handles these situations. You guys, on the other hand...are ridiculous.
 
I've been on some forum with some really abusive censoring Moderators....Bladeforums is not the worst but they are in the 6 to 7 range on a scale of 1 to 10 1 being the nicest most proper mods and 10 being total Fascists. In the beginning, I really wanted to like this forum and take part, but heavy handed moderation keeps me mostly to looking these days.

That being said, I want to clarify that it's not all the mods it's just a few rotten apples easily spotted by their tasteless Avatars. The rest of the mods are Top Shelf in my book, but it only takes a couple rotten ones to ruin everyones' experience.

so what does someone have to do (or not do) to get a 1 on this scale of yours?
Have you ever seen a mod here get on to someone without a clearly stated forum rule behind it?
I haven't...and I certainly saw nothing in the threads in question to indicate that something of that nature was going on.
Sounds to me like people catching hard feelings over nothing substantive.

And before you say I don't know what I'm talking about concerning the thread topic, I do. I have customs, no longer post there but do read there at times. Not saying anything bad about the room, but it's the last one I would want to moderate. If anyone can do it Karda can though.

There are a few super mods here that I have tons of respect for, and Karda is right there at the top. He is as fair as they come, and I can't think of a time I didn't agree with him.

I don't think so, and there are a lot of other Customs and Handmade Forumites that would disagree with that statement. You can feel any way that you want about it.

I have respect for Karda, but we don't see eye-to-eye on many aspects of social interaction. He has his way, I have mine, neither of us is likely to change the other's approach or perception.
