Its 1996....what's your EDC today?

I can't remember specifically, but it could well have been a Camillus Madd Maxx with the bowie style blade.

Not sure if it was called a Huntsman back then, but a SAK with a saw and scissors, anyway.

I was carrying much the same thing as I do today;

- Spyderco PS Endura
- SAK Super Tinker
- Latherman PST

I have no idea what knife I was carrying but I'm sure I still have it. 1996 was a big year for me though. I got married, bought a house, and my wife had our first kid.

SOG Tomcat always and alternating between one of Victorinox Recruit, or Vic Huntsman or Vic Swisschamp or SOG Paratool or Leatherman Wave.
At least i think i had the wave by then!

I remember this.

Benchmade Emerson 975SBT
Vic Swisschamp

Cool thread.

At this time I worked in Madison, Wisconsin, the Liberal and PC capital of the world, my EDC was the teeny Victronix. Even that drew some questions about why was I carrying a knife.

Now that I'm retired my EDC is a cheap folder that I don't care if I lose, 2"-3" blade. I carry my cell phone and keys on my belt already. I don't want anything else pulling my pants down.

I would have been seven but it was my first knife, my grandpa gave me it, an Imperial electricians knife made in Prov. R.I. I still got it and would gladly carry it but its way to sentimental. I wouldnt know what I would do if I lost it or broke it.

Lets see...1996...either an early Leatherman multitool and/or a mid 80's vintage SOG Stingray (great little, but heavy, lockback) - I still have both.

For me, a green Wenger Esquire on my keychain, and a Victorinox Huntsman - rescaled in Kingwood(?) - in my other pocket.
