Seasoned pork chops, cheesey rice, glazed veggies with raisins, more sweet corn bread and apple sauce. MMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Desert: Baileys in the hot tub (that had to hurt)

LOL - I'm just havin' WAY tooooooo much fun with this.

Cobra, you're not eating any better than me and I'm on a diet... :D Of course, you are eating better than Moose and Guyon...:p

Edit-Of course, I am missing out on the 12oz stuff... (well, depending, there is plenty of stuff in 12oz bottles I don't miss in the least... :D) and the Baileys. I did have some good single malt a little over a week ago, does that count?

Hey, I'm eating good, I had a ham and cheese omelette tonight. Apples and soup for the rest of the day. 2 GS Apples, and a can of Campbells "Lose fat in a can". yay me.

No seconds

No dinner #2

No "I'll make up for it tomorrow"

I blame department stores for my obesity, actually.

In the old days, if you were bigger than an XL, you just didn't buy clothes. Had to wear bib overalls with no shirt underneath.

Now stores that commonly have fat boy sizes such as 8X. Makes it easier be fat.

I say we outlaw any sizes above large, and we'll all trim down to avoid the embarrassment.

Keep up the good work, guys.

Dang Jason, that is a lot of soup you been chowing down. Must want to beat Guyon pretty bad.

I tried a soup diet for awhile a couple years back, but it just didn't do it for me. I managed fine for a few days, but then after that it started being, "Well, I am still really hungry, so maybe one more can..." which then snowballed into like 2-3 cans at each meal. Got a little out of hand there I think. So far though I am doing pretty good. Gotta get some exercise in, but this week I have to move pc's all over the darn place in our building, so that is providing me with some lightweight lifting and whatnot. I wish I could do without crawling around under the dustraps that people call desks though. Wish I could keep em from putting the darn things on the floor too.

*sigh*

The thing with me, I can't be hungry, but I can be not full. Learning that not being hungry, as opposed to "FULL" is a big step to losing weight and getting healthy. Plus, I like Chicken noodle soup. And apples, so I'm cool with it for a month or twol.

Hang in there man - like I said before, just giving ya $hit. Could be the reverse stuff works, wouldn't that be a kick in the head. lol

Most days I'm relatively good, but some days I'm horrible:

I didn't eat the whole serving plate, I had about as much meat by volume as the rice. Dark chocolate to start it off, and washed down with high fructose sugar water.

I figure, I work out hard so I can eat like this every now and again.

good stuff

Well, glad to hear you are eating some, Moose. It will make things easier in the long run.

I guess today ended up being my cheat day. I had the donut earlier, and went to dinner at a friends and had 3 helpings of lasagna and a couple sourdough rolls, along w/ some fresh veggies and ranch. Guess tomorrow would be a good day to hit the gym, especially since I am about over being sick.

87Burban, I went on a camping trip that was a week long, and it was in the 50s temp wise, and the wind blew pretty much constantly. You couldn't hardly stay warm, so you ate like crazy because you burned so much fuel. It was there I learned to eat a breakfast, pre-lunch, lunch, pre-dinner, dinner....

During college my brother really pushed that concept on me. "Derek, you don't have to be full, you just have to be not hungry."

I think I was really surprised that last night's dinner actually kept me from being hungry until this morning, they were very small portions.

This morning I had:

2 servings worth of Cream of Wheat, made with 2 cups water. That alone was 240 calories, then I added 1 teaspoon of margarine, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. I actually had a hard time finishing it was so filling. Three hours later and I am still feeling fine, and floating in the "not hungry" zone. Looking at nutritional info online here, my breakfast weighed in at under 400 calories, which is pretty awesome considering how filling it was. Cream of Wheat might be my new go to food for this thing.

On a side note, my fiancee' has lost several lbs (like 30 or something I think, not really sure cause I think she looks good however) just switching to oatmeal for breakfast and not eating out as much. We had actually looked at our spending for the year of 2009 and we spent so much eating out that I could have bought another car, so 2010 saw a lot less of us going out to eat. Hope to keep that going this year.

Anyways, good luck peoples! This is really turning out to be an inspirational post for me, and has helped me stay on track (for the most part) so I hope we can all keep it up and get healthier doing it!

We really don't eat too terrible. Actually, all this stuff got me thinking and we're going to make some small changes

i.e.
Margerine vs. butter
More Olive oil (already use it)
Smaller portions
Baked vs. fried
etc.

And God save me ... less beer (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !)

What's that joke, "I quit drinking, smoking and chasing other women ... it was the worst 15 minutes of my life"

Well, see how long mine sticks (lol)

The thing with me, I can't be hungry, but I can be not full. Learning that not being hungry, as opposed to "FULL" is a big step to losing weight and getting healthy.

This notion has been key to me. Not eating to excess just because the food is there.

So far, I've cut portions. I've just about weened myself off soft drinks. I'm avoiding really high-fat foods. And most importantly, I've stopped snacking on junk.

Seems to be working. Past three days, I've weighed in at 217 or 218 down from a start weight of 223. This week, the plan is to start moving more and keep up the dietary habits.

Well, today I skipped exercise. I needed some extra rest and my sore muscles needed some time to heal. I still did my pushups, situps, and pullups, just no frosty walks at 5am. Not backing off, but I have to let my body rest up some, I'm still feeling soft inside from the flu, but I am feeling better now than I have in weeks, the exercise is really boosting my energy levels. Now, just need to negotiate some late night calisthenics with the Lady. All will be good.

Guyon, Ethan says to kick your ass at this and spend the money on booze at Blade, just thought you should know who you're up against.

I don't think there's going to be an ass kicking.
I'm going to lose my 20, and it looks like you're serious as well.
I only have 15 more to go, and I haven't even ramped up the hikes, bike rides, and 2-mile runs.
My sea kayaking buddy and I are also planning another 20+ mile overnight paddle soon.
I hope we both make it and buy each other a celebratory brew.

Next post is 30K.
