Yep, I just got one of those. Pick up some ceramic belts for it too, and you can use it for knifemaking too. Did preliminary grinds on a waki and a large persian on it so far.

-edit- It does run quite fast, bear in mind. Rips material off pretty darn quick.
 
Thanks CF. Any info on where to get good belts would be appreciated.
 
I get all mine from Super Grit, although Tru Grit is also reportedly good, and they have other knifemaking supplies also. Customer service has been excellent. They've forgotten some of my belts a couple times, but always ship out immediately upon being informed, and they usually send me free stuff to try out too. Check out the knife suppliers list in the shop talk subforum.

Trying out my GSI mug, not too bad but it dont hold the heat as well as a ceramic mug.

Still LOVING the 17...... EDC baby!

It's all good. There's also a proto ESEE 3 folder, and a few other things, including a SS 4 model.

dang, that stonewashed SS E4 looks pretty good.

I like the E3s....and the Izulas, I'm debating picking up a Izula2 to see how I like the longer handle.

and of course the mighty Junglas is tempting.
 
The ESEE folders have me excited. If you read between the lines, they'll be out in the first half of 2013, most likely.
 
Did you not see the "stainless" ESEE Moose had at the gathering? I got a real kick out of it. The ESEE folders have been "about to come out" for quite some time now. At least as long as I have been here. Here's hoping they come out a little sooner than what a lot of us have expected.
 
No I didnt notice Mose having one....way to many knives there to remember them all.

Moose had one, looked exactly like that 4 you showed if I recall, and might have actually been that one. Funny thing was, the thing has rusted all down the length of the blade. Basically they had needed one for a photo shoot but didn't actually have the stainless one in hand, so they made do with a carbon steel version just for the pics.

I remember that story.....they high-polished a carbon model to put in the display case for a knife show or something like that. I didn't know Moose had that blade though.

Actually it looks more like an acid wash then a blue/bleach etch, to my eyes anyways. The finish is very smooth, no etch feel to it. Great looking blade regardless.

I know one of the things he uses at least is Clorox.
