So many sweet blades!! This one is unreal!

Think two feet long - from the collection and with the permission of Ed Wormser, the Warenski Khukri. I would have the Scimitar in one hand and this one in the other. Too heavy to clamp between my teeth (ARGHHH!!).

I've often thought of which one or more of my beauties I would take in end times, my 'The Road' fantasy.<A book by Cormac McCarthy>

Two come to mind immediately. The Burt foster Military Utility and Jason Knight's Sax. The Sax, 19" L6 forged blade would be used for chopping and hacking off limbs, if the need should arrive :cool:

The Foster as an all round utility and 'in close' combat knife. Yes I'm taking two Joe! :D

Arrgh, Bob, just WOW ! :cool:

Pretty cool thread but you have that backwards, Joe. :)
I certainly owe YOU. (Among other things for hooking me up with those awesome Jason Knight blades).

Marcus Lin's first comp cutter(5160).

The pleasures all mine kind sir :)

Awesome cutter

What is the blade coating ?

I've got to go with my Bagwell HB and Ruger Vaquero. Regardless of scenario I trust these two items not to fail. Might not be the most tactical around but very dependable.

Crossada excellent piece. You could stab two at a time with that one. :)

I'd be lying if I told you I wouldn't have my old carbon and stag Bagwell somewhere.

But I'd like a fast Khukuri for designated head splitting and camp duties. Wonder if I could get Bill to make a Khukuri :)

Great stuff thx for posting

Given than most of my customs are slipjoints and other small knives, there is only one real choice for me should the walkers start coming around. My Stuart Branson bowie gets the call along with my RMJ Forge tomahawk.

No pictures at the moment, but I'd carry my Bagwell bowie, a hunter that Erik Fritz made me, my Ruger single six, and my Marlin .30-30. Or the Marlin .35 Remington. Much as I love the .45-70, the ammo is too heavy to pack much of it. Unless there are dragons, and then it's .45-70.

now this, you can trust.

my most used blade, Sooke Mountain Chopper by Jason 'Knifemaker to the Apocalypse' Knight.

For the zombie apocalypse I'm taking two. I'll carry my Marlin 336 in .35 rem for a rifle, and I'll take my homemade fighting bowie, and zombie cleaver.

Fighting bowie in hand. 19 1/4" overall, 13.5" blade, 1084 steel, sharp enough to shave with.

And my 5160 Zombie cleaver, also very sharp, 16" blade, 23" overall, heavy but great for splitting skulls or firewood.

Joel Purkerson's machete would be a good choice as well;

Matt Gregory's bowie might come in handy;

Cal

The road is one of my favorite freaky books

I highly recommend it as a great read for this time of year :)

That Knight piece is certainly up to the task

What is the blade coating ?
It's some type of enamel, Joe.
From Marcus,
Specifications:

Steel: 5160 (heat treated to HRC 59), flat ground with a convex edge and enamel coated for rust resistance.

Blade Length: 9-1/2"

Blade Width: A tad over 1-3/4"

Overall Length: 15"

Stock Thickness: 0.25"

Matt Gregory's bowie might come in handy;

Agreed, Lorien, Matt makes some great stuff and his fit and finish is right up there.

This thread keeps getting better and better ! :thumbup:

Roger I have long coveted boh those pieces and for a true one shot kill weapon a spike hawk has been getting it done for an awfully long time.

I know a lot of folks laugh at Lin Thompson of Cold Steel but he put out a very informative Tomahawk Fighting video that goes in to great detail about how to take advantage of a hawk and work around its one short coming which is also one of the weapons strong points power. With power comes the over strike problem. A Khukuri suffers the same maladies, if you hit your target your golden if you miss you leave yourself exposed.

A fast Khukuri lke the Knight changes direction very quickly and due to the speed you can generate and edge geometry it bites very deep.

If I where to grab a hawk it might be this Winkler Sayoc I recently acquired

Doug, it's bocote. Love this knife. CruforgeV is some killer steel.

Jungle Honey for me. Perfect for lopping off zombie heads, but also works great as a machete/camp knife.
