No joking, about an hour after I posted that my wife called me and asked me if I knew how to make shrimp salad (she was thinking of dinner options). Coincidence??????!!!!!!!!???….I could go for a plate o' shrimp right about now.

I don't think I've seen that Okapi model before Jer
I don't think I've seen that Okapi model before JerThe handle looks like the ones Imperial/Richards/Jowika used to use for their Fish Knife. Do you know anything more about it?

I don’t know the date of manufacture except that it is obviously since the move to SA in the late 1980s. I bought it “new old stock”off the auction site for $6. The liners and backspring are formed from a single piece of folded sheet metal (“integral”- fancy!), and the handles are hollow stamped sheet metal. The blade appears to be made of the same carbon steel the ratchet knife blades are made from. The action is a bit stiff, but very solid when open. I like this one a lot.
Oops!

These aren’t the knives you’re looking for:
Drawer 2/knife 9 was this shell-construction Mikov which I made a wrap for using some Star Wars themed laptop stickers. If anybody felt a disturbance in the force, it was me making my Random Tuesday choice on Monday night - work has been crazy so I thought I would tee it up ahead of time while I had the chance…
Nice JerThis Colonial arose.
