You probably know it's a queue de poisson in French, a kitchen garden knife of Brittany. Not unlike a doctors' knife with a snazzier handle.

I had some friends visiting Paris a few years back, and they offered to bring me back a knife. Ideally, I wanted a traditional French pattern, in carbon steel, and Jolipapa was a huge help in terms of this Issard Violon eventually being delivered into my grateful hands I always mean to carry it more, and Lady Luck seems to be encouraging me to do so

Thanks. The Pradel and the queue de poisson seem to be the only styles that Sabot makes in carbon. I wonder if they have cranks like us over there who insist on it for these two patterns.

LOL! Yes, it seems to be a similar situation with the Spanish and Italian cutlers The only Sabot I have is this Vendetta

I was dealt an unusual Lambsfoot today, two bolsters, a file-worked back-spring, and pre-ban ivory covers. I picked this up a few years back, but have only carried it a few times
