January 2021 Buck of the Month - 722 154CM Solid Copper Handle

To be fair, the picture in the BOTM email usually looks much better than the website pictures. But some subscribers never receive the email and others receive it too late to determine if they want to purchase it or not based on the email picture. They should put the email picture on the website as the last picture in the series to give subscribers a better idea of what the knife may look like in hand.

Jeff did state they are looking into the email issues. Hopefully they can resolve them by the next BOTM.

Email system seems to be ok.
it was suggested to make sure it is not going to Spam/Junk Mail, if not re-sign up.

Exactly 100 left as of the time of this post. It seems the saturation point is about 325-350...given this knife is not everyone's cup of tea. At least everyone that wanted one was able to obtain one. :)

I like the idea of a higher number of BOTM's.
It gives everyone a chance to get one that wants one. and (the best part) the higher quantity makes reselling them for god awful prices on ebay less attractive... :D:D:D:D:D lol lol lol!

I don't even own a Spitfire, but I have a 715 that's similar in function. I like that, but can't bring myself to spend the money on a BOTM Spitfire, not even owning a regular one.
I like the copper. Working with it pretty often gives you an appreciation for how nice it is..... seems heavy for a knife. (see how I did that, justifying my decision....?).

It would be easier if I would stop looking at all your cool pic's tho.

A few times my ISP server was to blame on email coming in late but other times it never showed up. I have a spam catch that I can easily know what gets filed in there. This month it came in normally but I’ve passed on this one although I do like the copper. I’ve not been to excited about the humpback spine on the spitfire models or other humpback types. I prefer a straighter spine to the handle and a smaller thumb hole. I’m enjoying my 830 marksman so I’m satisfied with both of the ones I have.

Depending on your email type setup, the issue can be an issue between the ISP's auto spam filtering and your email client "junk mail/spam" settings.

For example, Comcast has the option to logon and use their Webmail to do email, or you can still use an email client on your computer to do email by configuring it to interface directly with the Comcast's email servers.

I started out decades ago with Outlook email client, with my email protocol being POP (versus . Outlook has it's own "junk mail" settings and I've experienced issues where even if I have a sender's email marked as a "safe sender", on the ISP side it is being flagged as 'spam" and never gets to my Outlook email inbox.

If your email is web based only, and you access it strictly via website logon, then that conflict doesn't exist.

I have to confess, my email setup is probably considered archaic, but it's what I'm used to.

I've received all notifications since signing up. With the exception of a 2 month window.
