1) This was such a tragic event you Post here but don’t actually do anything to resolve it? = Drama Queen

2) Glock26- thanks for volunteering for the my Ignore List. I don’t deal with idiots.
“Everytime I try to give Canadians a chance they fail.”

USPS Priority costs little less than USPS Express unless you use the Small Flat Rate Box. Generally it is the difference between $28 and $32 from my experience; whereas the Flat Rate box is around $14. Actually I had never noticed that USPS International Priority (not using Flat Rate) was trackable; but for $5 why not get the insured tracking?

If Paypal is calling it a "chargeback" then you probably got an email telling you they would do all they could to fight the credit card company on it. This was not a dispute and not eligible for the protections as such. It was a chargeback thru a credit card fraud department that got charged back to paypal and they are going to get it back from you. They will also get a penalty fee from you to make matters worse.

Thats just one of the many reasons I don't accept PayPal Payments. Hate to hear this and hope it works out for the best.

Clap, Clap, Clap, Clap, Clap, Clap

Well said, both statements!

Yea I'm a real freakin drama queen huh? Out of nearly nine hundred posts this is the very first time that anyone has ever heard me "whine" about anything, so yea. That's me, mr freakin drama queen. Why don't you add a little more negativity to an already bad situation? Thanks for the support, jackoff.

And I did call PayPal, thanks to all concerned. Even though it didn't do me a bit of freakin good.

Again though, thanks to all for the support, and thanks to all for the negativity. Really helped me out, I guess?

You delayed, for one thing. I would have been on this the moment it hit my radar, and I would have had a lot of internet data about the scammer to back up my claims.
Moreover, I would have been going back through all possible transactional data to get a read on the tracking. Leaving no stone unturned.
I read this whole thread, waiting to see if you'd take action. Why you kept waiting, I have no idea. Your explanation didn't make a lot of sense to me.
I agree with others here that you seemed to wallow in the victim role. That may not feel helpful to hear, but maybe if there's a next time, you can learn from it.

Just FYI... I don't always save every scrap of paper, but here's what I do.
(a) I pay for shipping with a credit card so there's a paper trail that connects a payment to a tracking number. Even if I can't locate this receipt six months later, the PO's database has a record of it, and I can figure out date/time of transaction from my CC company.
(b) I PM the buyer with his/her tracking info. Those PMs get saved onto my hard drive so I have a record of all tracking numbers and where they went.
With these in place, it might be a pain in the butt to track everything down in lieu of physical copies, but there is a trail for doing it.

I also don't ship internationally without adequate tracking. It pisses off some would-be international buyers, but that's their problem not mine.
I have made the occasional exception, but only for long-time posters (a) who I know and (b) who have stellar reputations here at BFC.

I waited a total of one business day. One. To call PayPal. I don't have any credit cards so i usually deal in cash. Also, I didn't know the number on the customs form was trackable at the time, so I didn't send it to him. He never exactly asked for it either.
I have since slowed down ten fold on my selling and when I do, I take all precautions possible. Thanks for the input. I know most of you mean well and are trying to help.

International shipments are just a greater risk. I know the folks outside the continental US don't like to hear/see that, but it's true.
Distance and different legal systems make an investigation for mail fraud difficult to impossible (more like impossible).
And even with premium shipping options, some locales just don't offer adequate tracking to satisfy a chargeback investigation.
For some addresses, you're hard pressed to get a definitive answer to the question: "Is it there yet?"

So you have no possible way to confirm that you shipped it at all? The post office keeps no record? I beg to differ... they should be able to help you if you present proper ID. Even if it only tracks to the border... that should be enough to take the oweness of you. What did Paypal tell you, exactly?

PayPal pretty much just said that it was out of their hands, that they weren't going to take the funds from my bank account, and the credit card company would be contacting me. That's pretty much it.

Rick is right about customs forms. You have to fill in your address and the recipient's address.
There's a copy of a document somewhere that connects BigBrad and Jason Yao, and it is recoverable. It also has tracking info attached to it.
That's certainly the route I'd go to try and prove he received the knives in question.

Beyond that, I hope Jason Yao gets the fire setting and nut kicking he deserves.

That's pretty much it.

That may be it for PayPal, but as mentioned, I'd be hustling to track down that customs document so that I could fight a credit card charge back.
I'd also be gathering every bit of incriminating internet evidence on Jason Yao and preparing it for someone at the CC company.

That sounds like my best source of damaging ammunition. Definitely gonna get on top of this one. Thanks to all for the great ideas, and also

Anyone else that has been scammed by Jason Yao, please step forward in this thread. It could not only help me, but potentially help others from getting scammed by this sack o sleeze

You might make an appointment at your local PO to talk to a postmaster/manager.
Do your best to narrow the window in which you shipped the knives.
The better you can narrow the date(s), the easier it will be to find any archived documents.
Old emails might be a good way to get a read on when you shipped.
Explain the situation and the importance of laying hands on a copy of the customs form.
I have no idea what the USPS record system looks like, but that's the route I'd go.
A record of that event has to exist somewhere, right?

If you are willing to give me the inporter exporter information I could see what I could do for you tracking wise, but first, what kind of knives did you sent JY. he seems to have a liking for balis???

Looking at your previous sales, you have a liking for balis too. hope you didn't try to ship a couple of knives prohibited in Canada. Might not be JYs fault. (although he still sounds like a punk)

Come on homie, don't give up just yet. Like these members are suggesting, there's still something you can do. Personally, theres no way that fool is gonna get away with a third of my paycheck and my knives that easily.

i think his physical address needs to be posted here in case he changes his email address. at least if his address is known it might save someone from dealing with him.
