Jim Dunlap knives

Very nice knife @Chief , Jim does beautiful work. Jim made this one for me last year, exactly as I wanted it. Wider than normal for my extra large mitts.
Pictured with the Queen Mountain Man it retired.

Nice! A lockless 1306?

A preview. I’ll get some better pics and post. Stockman by mr Jim. Not sure why he didn’t put a makers mark. I’ll ask him!

I have to say, after dealing with him and meeting him at blade, he is one of the nicest gentlemen I have ever met.

Very nice, love that blade combo. I have to agree, Jim is a very friendly and humble gentleman.

His wife is as nice as he is. I can’t wait to talk to him again at blade next year.

He’s also a very under valued maker I feel. I’ve paid more for less fit and finish.

He forgot his makers mark on it lol! I’m going to send it back so he can add it.

Definitely undervalued, but hoping it will stay that way until I get my stockman one day. I think forgetting to put his makers mark on it is a testament to his humbleness as a knifemaker.

That might be difficult after the blade has been hardened.
I'm not much of a multi blade guy but that one could change my mind.

That stockman, and the sowbelly, are both great looking knives. That cross shield is interesting you just don't
see them much. I have a parser plate that I made and use for patterns on cross shields, again not common.
Ken.

I love Jim’s work. I slipped it right into my pocket. I don’t use it for cleaning fish..but apples are fair game. I bought it the day my old bird dog had to be put down...said heck life’s too short.

I love Jim’s work. Been on my grail radar awhile now. I slipped it right into the pocket. Don’t think I will clean fish with it...but apples are fair game. If you were to ask me five years ago if I would spend almost a grand on a pocket knife I would have laughed at you. This is my third custom (and first Dunlap) and twice what the first two cost me. I bought it the day my old bird dog had to be put down...said heck life’s too short not to buy a treat once in awhile. And I’m turning 50 next month. Why not?
I’m on Jim’s list right now. Hoping for a bit of a hybrid stock / cattle knife in the 3.5 inch range. I can only dream of it being as amazing as your sowbelly.
