First to 7 wins, its come to this. 1 week left before our playoffs and only 3 teams have locked up a playoff spot! In the toughest most competitive season I can remember only The Stoney Jabronies, The Kentucky Aardvarks and the English Muffins have clinched a playoff spot. Three 6 and 6 teams are fighting it out in the Blue division (Deflators, Thunderballs and San Jose) and two of them are playing each other this week, holding their playoff chance sin their own hands, while San Jose go off to face the Muffins to try and clinch their playoff spot. In the Black division both the Honey Badgers and the Texas pugs need to win this week to try to earn a playoff spot, since they are facing other opponents it may come down to points if both win.
On the other side of things the Numbers and Jackhammer now have to turn their eyes to the consolation bracket, as both have been ruled out of the playoffs. Sorry guys, but I will make those prizes nice, so keep up the good fight. Its not insult to lose this year, tis been a tight race all season.
This week brought the most enjoyable game of the season for me, not the thanksgiving game where Calvin Johnson went off on the eagles, no, I really enjoyed the broncos and patriots game. Nothing about the result but the snow, the late night scheduled, the back and forth game script, it just made for a fun game to watch for me. Certainty got me into the holiday spirit anyway.
On to the round up of week 12s games.:
The Honey Badgers Vs English Muffins 94 to 140
In the first of a series of upset victories this week the lopsided Muffins managed to beat the hungry Honey Badgers handily. It was the return of the stars for the muffins this week.
The week started out well with Mathews Stafford continuing to post carear number son thanksgiving and Calvin Johnson on the muffins lineup eating up 3 touchdowns from the thanksgiving game. Eddie Lacy coming back to life, despite a fumbler (grumble grumble) didnt hurt and AJ Green came back to the elite fold as week with 2. A slip at flex was easily overlooked by solid production from Carlson Palmer and his late rushing touchdown, bad Knees be damned.
The Honey Badgers took a leaf out of the past few weeks and decided to take the opportunity to post some low numbers. All 3 of their starting rbs struggled this week, while Gary Barnage continues to be the cinderella story of the season and Sanders proves he can catch Osweiler footballs just as well as anyone else
except D.Thomas, he didnt seem to like catching them at all
The Muffins did miss the chance to post season high numbers with some wonkey flex decisions but the loss also pushed the badgers down into the playoff fight while securing a nice cushy playoff birth for the Muffins
mwhahaha
The Honey Badgers, 94. Vs English Muffins, 140.
Bush Did Deflate gate vs texas pugs 112 to 113
In a game that kind of told the story of the season the Pugs were able to squeak out the narrowest of wins against the Deflators this week, ensuring a 3-way playoff race in the Blue division and keeping the race alive in the black division for the Pugs themselves.
In the end it was the receiving ability of Deangelo Williams that pushed the Pugs to victory, sure the 29 rushing yards and touchdown helped but the 7 catches for 88 really won the day
against the seahawks. It may not have resulted in a win for the Steelers but it was exactly 1 point enough for the Pugs who also had to watch as Hopkins only scored 8 points in a game the Texans won, against New Orleans! None of that makes sense but it is all true

On the Deflators side of the ball, well, playing Sproles at flex over a Landry didnt quite work out, he had 34 extra points more than they needed for the win.
But lets not rub it in, weve all left points on the bench before (the Pugs had Sammy Watkins 33 on the bench this week for example), I just point it out as a salt in the womb note that reflects a lot of what has happened to us all this year. Sorry Deflators, the good news is, you still got a shot at the playoffs, and so do the Pugs in a necessary win.
Bush Did Deflate gate, 112. Texas pugs, 113.
SAN JOSE, IL BELDUQUES Vs Jackhammer 141 to 77
Holy heck, the San Joes mob have pulled out another win, keeping them in the playoff hunt. I dont know what the new coaching staff is putting in the water but whatever it is Mathew Stafford wants more of it.
Chris Johnson went down with a broken tibia but Buck Allen seems more then good enough to fill in the void and Langford, on the bench this week for the San Jose, may still have a significant role this year as well. Brandon Marshal and Amari Cooper came back to form and Jimmy Graham left 11 points on the doorstep before steeping out of the season once and for all with a patella injury. Seem deep loses on the San Jose may hurt but probably feel like they were worth it for the 6 and 6 record they now hold.
The Jackhammers left the playoff hunt this week. Poor days for Cooks and the ever injured Allen Hurns were compounded by poor numbers from their star kicker and defense. Tom Brady wasnt able to pull out this win either, theres still plenty of talent here for a consolation bracket run to victory including Jeremy Maclin, who sadly went off on the Hammers bench, but that probably doesnt take the strong out of this loss.
SAN JOSE, IL BELDUQUES, 141. Jackhammer, 77.
Sanchex Butt-Fumblers Vs Stoney Jabronies 147 to 111
We find our highest score of the week in the game I, perhaps meanly, have come to realize is a game that did not matter. The Jabronies lost, but still keep their playoff spot, the Fumblers won, and won really, really well, but still stay shut out of the race. If only they had found this form even a few weeks ago.
The Jabronies may have lost Gronk for a week, maybe more, but who knows, on the other hand Delanie Walker is a damn good backup this year and he scored well on the bench this week as well. Lamar Miller seems to be one of many struggling on the Miami offence, but other than that they seemed to survive the loss fairly intact.
The Fumbelers finally found success with Tannerhill putting up numbers on a poor day overall for Miami, Ivroy and Martin both continue to be solid rb1s and Odell Beckham shone as always, For some reasons the timing of bad days and weeks has just never failed to hurt the Fumblers team because this stella lineup will have to go fight it out in the consolation bracket. A bitter sweet victory, but at least they walk away with the week highs core trophy!
Sanchex Butt-Fumblers, 147. Stoney Jabronies, 111.
MX Thunderballs Vs Kentucky Aardvarks 95 to 105
Wow, upset victory of the week, maybe? The Thunderballs had been rolling up until last week but their slide continued this week and the Aardvarks secured their playoff birth off the back of it. A low scoring game to be sure but a decisive and important one.
The Aardvarks won in a week when Drew Brees went for only 10 points and Todd Gurley got stuffed by Cincinnati for 3 lonely points. The Aardvarks were saved by a good performance from McFadden in fantasy terms and Allen Robinson and Travis Benjamin continuing the get the job done for their respective teams, even if Benjamins team still lost, in what has to be the strangest end to a week of football, a kneel down on a extra point, uhn? Anyway.
They were saved form having Aiken and Wilson on their bench by low points Danny Woodhead and D.Thomas, who doesnt wanna catch the Osweilers passes at all, and by Brian Hoyer winning, but winning in a hoyuer like fashion with 17 points. Alshon Jeffery was the lone stand out point with 16, and the confidence of having him back as a definite starter after his recent injury scare. Otherwise, the Thunderballs just didnt have any of the big games in their lineup this week. Their hope to correct that as they head into their 1 week all or nothing fight for a playoff spot against the deflators this week.
