JK FFL 2013 Season starting!

Ha ha. I look forward to chipping away at that alleged 30+ points that ESPN wrongly favor you with!

With Week 6 in the books, we saw our first
team to start a player that was out with an
injury. It was a much lower scoring week for
most, and someone got beat by A Girl!
The Badgers took it in the Shorts, when
Cecil left the game in the first quarter
with a "sprained sternoclavicular joint"
whatever the heck that is. The injury summed
up to zero points from Cecil and a
surprising zero from Jimmy Graham (injured)
resulting in a season low 60 points for the
Badgers. The Squad had decent showings from
the meat of his lineup, but his TE,Flex D
and K all put up lackluster numbers in a
week where that was all that was needed.

The anticipated bloodbath in Denver did not
materialize when the hapless Jags came to
town. P-Mann put two in the end zone in the
first quarter and then the Broncos decided
to rest Mr. Golden-Arm and kept the ball on
the ground. Who would have bet on Henne
having a better day (statistically) than the
senior Manning? DeMarco Murray was the only
other player in double digits for the Dudes,
who Got Beat By a Girl! Girl took her second
win of the season on the back of strong
showings by Arian Foster and Brandon
Marshall. Romo could only muster 11 points,
and the rest of her team was ho-hum, but 80
points was more than enough to prevent going
to 1-5.

The scoring roller coaster was at the bottom
of the hill this week for the English. With
Bryant and Gonzo on byes forcing the play of
RGIII and that other Graham at TE, and only
two players in double digits, the English
tallied only 68. Jackhammer benefitted from
the resting of Peyton Manning when Knowshon
Moreno scored 28 points against the Jags,
and Vernon Davis was the star TE this week
scoring 30. Even a zed in his flex position
did not deter the Hammers who were just one
point shy of a century for the week.

A great day from Cam Newton, who is finally
showing folks that he is indeed the real
deal, and good showings from Morris and Lacy
were offset by a pitiful 2 from Megatron and
zero from Mike Williams, who was pulled at
game time. Bad coaching, as there was enough
points on the bench to take the win for JnJ.
The Daggers had solid showings from his meat
and potatoes, although I am sure there were
some uneasy moments as the ESPN projections
slid up and down all day. The Dags could
have had high score for the week if he had
not benched his other Jackson. ;^)

The Dakota Daggers 104
Joique and Jaquizz 93

The Jabronis scored a nice bunch of points,
and it was spread evenly across the team for
the most part. High scorer was the KC d, who
put up a nice day against the Raiders.
Rudolph on the bench would have made a
coaches nose red, but who would have thought
the Minnesota WR would have 15 points in low
scoring loss. Even with Rivers having a down
day, the Jabronis put up a respectable 102.
Not enough to win, however. With Marshawn in
FBM, Stafford on target, lordy Jordy scored
a good week and Justin Blackmon getting
rained on from Henne in a desperate game of
catch-up in Denver, The Brees put up 117
points to take high score for the week and
win number 4.

Saintly Brees 117
Stoney's Jabronis 102

Another fun week, although I did not see
much football since I was up at the
Gathering. No complaints here!
Get your lineups in and good luck for week
7!

I was torn this week, rooting for my Patriots, but at the same time, cheering on Graham to make some plays. Do I get a trophy for lowest score of the week? Been a tough couple weeks, and doesn't look any better for me with both my studs on a bye week.

Who knows, maybe my bench will come through for me this week. Ya, right...

Great recap, Andy!

It still hurts too much to talk about it :p

Needless to say I need to have a serious locker room chat with my team

I'm still sick over that game. Kudos to your Pats for an absolutely great comeback victory. My fantasy win did help dull the sting of that RL loss a little. Still...

Now 'scuse me while I go cry in my beer some more...

(another great recap, Andy! )

I actually turned the game off when Brady threw that last interception. I thought it was a done deal. Was a great game, though.

I get my Jacksons mixed up sometimes. They all look alike, I think, maybe? I'm starting Vincent along side of DeSean this week & will sit a non-Jackson. Just wait until Steven gets well! I do miss Fred but I think that trade will eventually pan out for me (Gronkowski) .

I hope Vick doesn't loose his starting job for the season, I just don't feel as lucky with Cutler or Big Ben.
Anybody got any other Jacksons they want to trade me? Andy seems to have his hands on on all the best Johnsons.

I was going to attempt to not reply to that notion.... ;P

I am willing to give up a johnson or two if someone wants them bad enough to give me a good rb and wr ....

Week 7 Wrap Up -
The Girl was not able to pick up her third win of the season, with her high scorer Romo only putting up 17 points. Arian Foster was put out after only 4 carries, making the Girl sad once again. Along the line of "silver linings", at least she picked the right QB out of Brady and Romo. I can only shake my head in disbelief about Brady this year. Maybe the return of the Gronk will portend better things in the second half of the season for Mr. Brady and the Girl. The Bills D was pretty much the bright spot, and 10 points from Gould were about all the Girl could do, handing the English an easy win, and one he is probably very thankful for!

With and over the top performance by Forte, Jackson and even a very un-geriatric 22 from Gore, Our Daggers won once again, putting up great numbers in an overkill against the Badgers. Honey Badger needed more RB and WR this week. Rogers redeemed last weeks performance with a good showing, but Powell took a back seat to the rookie phenom Ivory, and the result was a goose egg for Bilal. Wayne was injured in the shootout game against the Broncos, and Celek was shut out against Dallas. With not much on the bench, the Badgers have to look towards next week with some trepidation.

The Honey Badgers 61

Week seven brought the first loss of the season for the unstoppable Peyton Manning, but he still put 30 points on the board. Cutler's untimely exit did not stop the Dudes from scoring a win against the Squad, who was only able to put up 64 points. Bernard continues to tease, with prospects high and on-field production low. Coupled with a disappointing day from the rookie Gordon, and the flex position only able to spiller 1 point contributed to another headache of a day for the Squad. The Dudes had a low scoring day, but it was enough to do the job.

Socal Geodudes 79
The Todd Squad 64

The Jabronis extended their win streak to 3, with a decisive victory over Jackhammer, who had to start Nick Foles as Brees was on a bye. With only Eric Decker really having a good day, the Jackhammer could not crack 80 points this week, and has to look forward to the return of his star QB next week. A solid 102 points from the Jabronis that was fairly evenly spread, and a nice day from the capable Green put the Jabronis in the win column and keeps the momentum going.

Stoney's Jabronis 102
Jackhammer 76

In the weeks higest scoring affair, and the closest margin of victory, JnJ finally put a good lineup on the board and scored high points for the week in a winning effort over Saintly. A weak day from Newton was offset by a big day from waiver wire pickup Eddie Lacy, and finally Megatron lived up to his historical scoring. A good day from Cameron, and a last minute td from Bennett allowed JnJ to hang on to win. Matt Stafford had a very good day, but every time he threw a td to Calvin, JnJ got six points to the four points Stafford got for the passing TD. There was some nail biting on Sunday evening as Julius almost saved the day for the Brees, but it was not to be and instead the Brees tallied a two point loss after scoring a very respectable 109 points.

Joique and Jaquizz 111
Saintly Brees 109

Next week is the halfway point of the season, and we have a clear leader, but it is still anyone's knife as it were. Now is the time to really watch those injuries and keep track of who is the starting players at those key positions where there are injuries.

I thought Foles had a better shot at putting up the numbers but should have stuck with Alex Smith, not that it mattered since I had to wait for the Sunday night game to find a starter who could put up a double digit score! Oh well, there's always next week.
But watching the close battle between J&J vs. the Brees was the highlight of the week in my opinion.

thanks again, andy, I left some points on my bench this week and made the wrong decision between cox and hillis when I saw Jacobs was sitting this week. Highlight for me was RGII posting his best game so far :)

Yours sure was a nail bitter

Once again, I out thought myself. I picked up Harry Douglas since I knew that White and Jones would be out for awhile but thought I'd sit him for a week and see how he did, even though I knew that Blackmon had a hammy. Well...he did great. 20 points. MY 3 starters went 11, 10 & 5. Starting Douglas would have been the difference. 2 of my 3 losses have been for a combined total of just 3 points. :(

And now my bench is full of injuries. I don't know if I'll ever get Amendola back, my BU QB (Bradford) is out & my BU TE (Finley, GB) is probably out for the rest of the season as well. Sigh. Well, it was a nice start.
