Is it another pic? yup. of course it is. i'm done with the RH sheath.

and, ya know? let's not forget about that LRK+. finally got warm enough over the weekend to head out and make some new mycarta. i had some of the natural burlap left, but i wanted a darker colored handle. i like the look of the EWOK i got in tan micarta. so, i got some brown-ish burlap to use. it's done and ready to go. just need to find some time.

it's tough to see the color in the pic because it still has the wax paper stuck to it.

nice work Todd, like the new sheath although you'll have to explain what white fluffy stuff your using as a backdrop, can't seem to place it :p

nice micarta to, your getting v.good at that

thanks Peter. the snowy pics are on my back deck. i had to shovel a foot-and-a-half of snow off just to get into my "shop."

40+ degrees out today. so, it is a good day to go to my "sun porch shop" and get a handle on the JK LRK+.

i am trying to hurry this up so i can get skiing. always a great way to begin a project!

turned out ok though. comfy li'l handle. great blade shape and grind. i like it. i may end up taking some knives out to the woods for a quick comparison.

homemade burlap mycarta over thin black G10 liners. carbon pin and a SS tube.

Just went through this whole thread, great design! Nice job on the handle of the Vermont knife, I grew up in NH, so I might need to get one of those down the road!
Very cool about you making your own Micarta ,now I need to research that process and see what I can learn!
Thanks for sharing!

That micarta is awesome!

Jeff
thanks Jeff!

thanks. and, it's shockingly easy to make the micarta. it does make a mess. and, i am still deciding whether i like the process. though, i do like that you can experiment with different materials. hit me up if you have any questions.

That sheepsfoot looks great. Reminds me a lot of the Randall Chef knife. Nothing wrong with that.

Thanks Peter. It is super-comfy. ironically enough, i am still deciding whether i like micarta. i go back and forth. i do like micarta, but there is just something about a nice wood handle.

It's hard to beat good wood.

thanks Coop! i actually really like the one i put on the LRK+. simple. but quite comfortable. now, i just need to get better at sharpening.
