John Angel from Sweden

I have bought these knives and these are well made. They have feedback score reaching 200 without any single negative feedback. Every one is happy and satisfied and every one has praised the craftsmanship and quality. Actual buyers don't have any doubt but people here who are the knife makers and are their competitors and who have big business threat from their revolutionary innovative top quality knives, are just writing all such garbage. Buyer will not count on your JUNK but will count on the feedbacks on their account which clearly states these people are honest and are selling top quality work. My all compliments and best wishes are for HANDMADE.KNIVES, CUSTOM.KNIFE. Keep on good work. And don't consider these guys remarks.

harada, what exactly did you mean by this remark "Any ways i have nothing else to say about it, you guys should better put your time and efforts in improving your business rather than waisting your time here... " to members here who collect knives and spend their hard earned money, finding out if a knife is a piece of pakistan junk  or a well made knife from sweden or italy is important so to me this isnt a waste of time.

I think it's pretty obvious harada2345 is a shill for this John Angel operation, importing cheap Pakistani knives. He even admits he knows how to mark the blades fraudulently to appear to be from somewhere else.

I thank all the people who showed up here, researching these knives, and adding key information on a very shady operation. I hope you'll stay around and learn about the good stuff out there. :)

I'm going to move this to our FEEDBACK forum.

here is something else of interest for any guys thinking of buying one of these knives. i would think again, if you look close at the pictures in the link that allenmcb provided, you will see a snap on the sheath that says " the great seal of the state of oklahoma". now where would some guy from SWEDEN get snaps from oklahoma?:rolleyes: it looks like somethings not right. i have done quite a bit of searching and i have yet to come up with anything on john angel other than whats already found. it sounds made up to me.

interestingly non of the cheap mascus knives on ebay have the words 'John Angel' in their description anymore.

If you look at the feedback for these sellers (and the guys that were hawking them before these sellers) there are dozens of 'neutrals' - ie mutually withdrawn. probably because the seller gives neg feedback, and the buyer wants to keep 100% feedback.

Nobody has a problem with cheap damascus knives, the problem is with the active misrepresentation when selling them. Ive seen some of these pieces sell for the price of a proper custom. (and the damascus is crude, dirty, smudged and made from god knows what)

There are some real high quality damascus blanks from pakistan being sold on ebay UK at the moment from 'AE' . they are advertised honestly with crystal clear photos of crisp damascus. The blades are approx $100 ea. One of them is on 'passaround' on a UK knife forum and they are struggling to fault it!

its the LIES that folks dont like, not the country of origin.

John N has nailed it. These people do provide good photos of the product, but the blatant misrepresentation indicates they themselves have little confidence on their product.

Item description: This is another beautiful pocket knife handmade by John Angel from Teckomatorp (Sweden). This beautiful pocket knife is fully handmade custom design. The BLADE is made of high quality surgical stainless steel.

LOL.

David

No one by the name of John Angel is registered with a phone number in Sweden. No one by the name of Angel is registered with a phone number in Teckomatorp (there is one - 1- John there, though).
I think that pretty much sums it up.

i was just wondering something about harada. maybe he was an unfortunate fool who bought one of these knives and he's trying to find another fool to buy it so he's trying his best to make it sound like a good knife . if so, he came to the wrong place.

Well I have one of the John Angel damascus knives. It is a big camper fighter type with belive it or not very good damascus with very good fit and finish between the guard and the ricasso. Just the tiniest bit of a gap on the top of the fit of the guard, and I mean tiny. Grinds are very crisp and clean with a nice distal taper to the point. I have to tell ya for the bucks I paid which was less than a C note the knife is worth more. The handle actually fits my hand. Sheath is very very generic and appears to be mass produced and really doesn't suit the knife. Hey the thing is sharp with what I would call upper end manufacturing quality ala BM and the like. Handle is very solid, and the blade is very sharp with very even grind lines and a nice distal taper. Put it this way I have Boker Magnum ltd ed knife I bought for about the same amount and I think this damascus has a tad better fit.

Now whether I belive in John Angel? Well no actually, but there is a town in Sweden with the name they advertise. No makers mark of any kind on the knife but I have to say it ain't a bad knife for less than a C note. keepem sharp and yea I can't belive I am saying this but it is true.

Gosh, such a strong, positive spin on your end, and such vicious words for the opposition. I'm impressed. You may be in the wrong industry.

If you can't make a living off of misrepresenting your wares on eBay, I saw a link over the weekend for a group that is in serious need of hiring some spin doctors.

Maybe you should call them up. They probably pay better than your current gig.

Spin doctors needed, please inquire within. :)

or

If that doesn't work out, this guy could use some help.

There is still one listing for a John Angel knife:

http://search-desc.ebay.com/damascu...QftrtZ1QQftrvZ1QQftsZ2QQsabfmtsZ1QQsacatZQ2d1

Yesterday there was a couple of listings for knives designed by two different people in the city of Almo US or something like that. They did specify "designed" instead of "made by". Some people will go to any length to mislead their customer base but, IMO, we should expect it when mainstream advertisers do the exact same thing in one form or another. Way to many people have jumped on the smoke and mirrors method of hyping their product.

I just wanted to point out, in addition to whatever other, uh, marginal buisness dealings are contained in this post, eBay has some pretty strict policies about sellers who list false return addresses to hide where they're selling from.

When some customers buy knives from you guys, what evidence you provide them that these knives are made in USA ? It takes only 50p here to put any mark on the blades ? Do you think your mark is the certificate of your knives being actually made in USA ? Or any trade regulating official comes visit your place, watches you working on a knife and wait their till you complete it in front of him and then he signs it certifying this knife is actually made in USA. What you are talking about ???

Hi, i disagree with harada here, we just want this seller to disclose the contact details of John Angel. "John Angel from Sweden" is not enough. I my self have personally purchased a bowie from this seller on recommendation of a friend and i liked the quality. There is no question about the quality and craftsmanship. But the question is "Does John Angel exists?"

When i requested this seller to provide me the address of John Angel, you know what he said? "No business feels comfortable disclosing their suppliers' details, how we can ?" lol..

And this is very obvious from harada's posts that he is either the same person who is advertising this mysterious knife maker or he is any agent of this seller.
