Jonathan Towns?

It is mail fraud; it's just a little harder to prove than if he had sent nothing at all. Every time he does it that's more evidence, though.
 
Despite my efforts to get my MSC back, it seems he's refusing to ship it back to me.

If anyone has the home phone # of the Towns' home, I'd be happy to get it.

I talked with Brian on Tuesday, explained what was going on and I asked him how to get in contact with his brother, he hung up on me.
 
Like I said, Brian is not the problem.

None of the phone numbers here are correct other than the police department. Turnkey has what he needs. If anyone else needs information because they have been ripped off email me.

I am tired of dealing with this family personally after spending almost 2 hours on the phone Tuesday night, but will support you if you have been taken by Jonathan.

My strong advice is to approach this calmly, present the facts without getting personal or emotional and if things dont work out take it to the police. Stupid threats are just that. I never got an email from anyone until 11:30 last night that has personally had a problem this time around, but other folks who I know and trust with anything for years from other forums have told me that he has caused problems all over the place (multiple forums). He seems to leave a wake of trouble with anyone who stikes a deal with him.

If you don't have a dog on this hunt, it is best for the people who do for you to stay out of the frey of contacting them.

If you have had a problem feel free to email me. You will have my legal support and the information you need to proceed legally, but I am going to want to know the non-emotional facts first and I am not about to post this information here at this time other than my advice not to deal with Jonathan Towns.
 
if dama24 is this jonathan towns character...then here is my brief interaction with him

dama 24 contacted me within minutes of posting a knife on another forum. payment did not come...and his excuse was someone that who owed him money failed to send it for him. i wrote him off as a doofus and moved on

curiously, i dont think he ever forwarded his own contact info
 
Here's the condensed, final chapter:
I'm keeping the SnG Tanto and the SMF Recurve by my choice.

Two reasons:
1. Their value is about equal to the knife I traded, at least when I get them back from the Strider Spa, it will be.
2. Frankly, after dealing with serial killers, child touchers, cannibals, and all manner of society's garbage day after day, I just don't have the mental stamina to deal with people such as this.

Jonathan's mom steadfastly denies that he did anything wrong at all. I tried to tell her about the loads of people that've contacted me with stories about how the little guy defrauded them, or tried to. She refuses to acknowledge any of that, and says he was framed. Fair enough.

I had a civil conversation with her, mostly, with dad in the background throwing a psychotic episode, complete with screaming, etc. They maintain that the knives just got back from the Strider Spa, and I told them there was no way that was true. Every time I've ever gotten a knife back from the Spa, it's been 110% perfect. Period.

Bottom line, everyone seems happy and the issue is closed.

His mother came right out and admitted that he's a grown man. Which begged the question from me, why isn't HE handling this then? Why have mommy on the phone? I think I can answer that for myself, though....mom was the only one that had the capabilities of a clear head in the whole situation.

One interesting point of the conversation: she said I was wrong for freaking out when the knife was "only a day late". I told her that Jonathan had my knife in his hands nearly a week before he even shipped my knives, and she was surprised by that. Turns out, it doesn't seem that Jonathan mentioned that little tidbit of information to his mother, leading her to believe that I just flipped out for no reason.

They did print out many of my posts and emails (which they claimed they forwarded to their attorney), but I noticed that the only ones she was reading from where the hostile ones from me. She didn't have any with Jonathan postponing, delaying, and screwing around sending the knives and making excuses. In short, Jonathan completely pulled the wool over his mom's eyes, from the appearance of things. As such, she believed her son was completely innocent of any wrongdoing.

Quite possibly, she knows very little about the lad's business practices, and the wake of dissatisfaction that he leaves from his dealings on the internet. It appears that he's very adept at covering up his tracks at home, leading those to feed into his angelic "poor me" persona. "Mom, they're ganging up on me again. And I'm so innocent!".

Hopefully, I've saved some people the heartache of dealing with this man and getting screwed. I personally know three people immediately closed their deals with him upon hearing of his mail fraud.

I never did receive the Ti Strider money clip he orignally claimed he'd send me, but in our final deal, I just let it go, as I didn't want any more dealings with these folks. It just wasn't worth it to me.

All a learning experience. I'm smarter for it, that's for certain. In future deals, I'll either deal with those I'm familiar with, or just tell the person I'm dealing with that they have to ship first, and I'll ship as soon as I receive their products. I hate to do it that way, but.....

Unfortunately, we have to remain ever-vigilant against those who would steal from us.
 
The whole family sounds screwed up,no wonder he's such the upstanding,responsible "little guy" he grew up to be :jerkit:
Glad she has an Attorney,sounds like her son will be needing one in the future when the criminal charges start coming.
 
Good news...after working the action of the SMF, whacking it open a few hundred times, the lockbar finally seats securely, and lock-up is good! I cleaned some gunk out of the action, cleaned the blade face, and it's good to go. Sharpened her up, she's ready for action, I don't even have to send it into the Strider Spa.
 
When you said good news I thought you were going to tell us that shiithead fell on a 2X4.................................Twice!!!

Too bad you had to go thru this much crap, a knife deal should always be on the up and up.................
 
You're right. But at this point, I'm just trying to put it behind me and move on. I don't want to dwell on it, since I cut my losses.

Now I just have one knife to send in to Strider, instead of two.

I imagine mommy and daddy will be very upset if I have to show up at the residence to retrive my possessions after driving a few thousand miles. At that point, my social skills will have degraded to non-existant or beyond.

Get to him fast,he seems to move alot.I had a trade deal with him that did go thru but I think he only did it to try for some good feedback so it would be easier to take people on the big stuff.

Here's how he tried to do me:

Reason being is shipping & receiving is what I do for a living & I've dealt with all 3 companies(UPS,USPS,FedEX) and UPS is the only company out of the 3 that pays their insurance claims(lost packages) on a regular basis. The other 2 rarely pay for lost stuff! I dont really mind how you ship though, everyone has preferences!
