Probably a little expensive for a Father's Day present, but it would make a nice one.Nice! I love smalls, and carry a couple other 55's regularly. My favorite so far is the January '22 BOTM in red canvas micarta, but this one is a looker.
There were somewhere around 310 left just before I bought mine about 10 minutes ago.291 left, seems to be selling at a decent pace. 10 knife limit or genuine collectors ?
Whew they are proud of that one. Got one on the way anyways. Did give me pause, that's a lot for such a small knife and 154cm, while nice, shouldn't command that kind of premium. Perhaps the ironwood is the big cost added in their mind. Or the nickel bolsters...
But did they get the cutout for the lock? They did polish the bolsters for you : )
Its a lockback, not a slip joint.I’ve been watching their site like a hawk after missing out on last month’s release (I really wanted a brass 110). I felt just kinda “eh” about this one. Price didn’t encourage me any either.
The 55 looks great, I just don’t carry small slip joints often.
But did they get the cutout for the lock?
That brass/micarta 301 was something else. Mine looks great at just the right angle, and does knife-y things well, but the springs are pretty gappy.Plus I was so disappointed at the appallingly sloppy construction of the last BOTM I ordered (brass/micarta 2 blade 301) that its just to much dinero. Maybe at $100. Sure is pretty though...![]()
I saw that the regular price of the 55 is now $70. When I bought the two ebonies it was $50. Time compresses and speeds up once you're a geezer, but I don't think it was more than 2 or 3 years ago that I bought them. I hope it hasn't been longerNickel bolsters and ironwood are a $70 upgrade on the 112. The normal price of a 55 is $70. So adding that upgrade makes it $140. So I guess it's not completely out of line. But I think a lot of us are not used to paying the normal price.
I bought mine just last year, not even from Buck for $57 (and before I knew of any discounts). So I think most of the price rise was within the last year.I saw that the regular price of the 55 is now $70. When I bought the two ebonies it was $50. $20 is a 40% increase![]()
I'd like them on a Stag Handle more!the question is though, do you like little tiny silver bolsters![]()
I think we all would, but Buck doesn't even offer stag anymore. An elk one might be $25 more. I think $145 for an elk one would have been a good offering. They can probably even use the scraps of elk they have laying around from the bigger knives.I'd like them on a Stag Handle more!
