Thanks for everyone's input and willingness to help plan. I've made reservations at a site at Valley View PA.

NPS is going to send me the permit and info on hikes in the area. We've got a member here, Stickman, that will be joining us so we'll have a guide

NPS didn't mention anything about the cost of the site. The website says $30 a night I think. If they end up charging me (I didn't give any info yet) then we can work that out later. We'll also work out food details later.

If you have a need for the campsite # please PM or email me at chargernet @ verizon.net otherwise I'll send it out later along with my cell #. I'm a little reluctant to post it.

If anyone is coming from south of DE and wants to meet up Friday night to convoy up let me know and we can meet somewhere.

I'd like to have some type of "class" like the CT gathering had so if anyone is willing to put something informal together that would be great. I'd love to know how to make fire with alternative sources since I'm not real good at that.

Here's a list of who we have so far - if you want to be added or taken off give me a holler or just post in this thread. We are limited to 25 people to a site, but we could always grab another one if they still have them.

Does anyone know if dogs are allowed there? I can't find any information explicitly saying they're not.

Sounds great, if there is anyone in the CT area that may want to car pool, let me know.

I haven't seen anything that said no. Here is the only restrictions that I have found:

Restrictions
Alcohol is not permitted at this site.

Is that the your dog in your avatar? Does it fight bears ?:D

That is my dog but as anyone who met him at the CT Gathering will tell you he's no bear fighter. ;) I would love to come to this PA Gathering.

You're on the list my friend! I look forward to meeting you and your dog.
I was actually thinking about bringing my dog, but she's not that great off the leash.

Hey myright, I will not be able to attend after all. My graduation is that weekend and that's kind of an important thing. :p:D

Good luck and take lots of pics!

We'll just have to have another at some point :)

Congrats on your graduation, whatever you are graduating from!

I'm going to have to pass. I think my wife would kill me if I were to go away for a weekend a week before we move 1500 miles away. Gonna have some packing to do.

The water gap is one of my favorite areas on the east coast. Great hiking and canoeing.

I hope you guys have a good time and I wish I could be there.

Don't worry Brian, that bad ass company car of yours can make the trip;)

Sounds like a great time. Maybe we could do something similar later in the year. Mac

Jeez, I was thinking it'd be further south! :D

What's it about 7-8 hours for you? Like I said, if anyone wants to stop in DE on their way up we can grab breakfast/lunch/dinner to give you a brake from the drive for a bit.

I did a quick mapqest on just "Valley View" as the location and it was about 100 miles from Wilmington which is near on the DE/PA border.

I was just kidding...it's only 4 hours or so from me.

Tonym, my car says "F*** you very much." :D

If you want to check MapQuest or similar, I think using Bushkill, PA will provide a good target. There seems to be 4 Valley Views, but none of them are the campsite or even in the right county.
