June 27-29 PA Gathering

How about we call this off officially and divide the permit cost to reimburse myright. There seems to be nine of us on the list and it's not fair that he take the hit. What does that come down to...about $7 each? Any other thoughts?

On a more positive note, we can reschedule this for a "cooler" time of year :-)

I can eat the price of the permit, that's not an issue at all.

If anyone is still planning on going though just let me know and I can mail the permit on Monday.

Thanks for the offer though Stickman.

I will not be able to make it now, either. Stickman, good idea.

Myright, I'm more than happy to contribute to the cost of the permits. Please PM and let me know where to send you the money.

Don't sweat it bro, I'm not worried about it. Ya'll can cook me breakfast at the next GTG! Thanks for the offer though.

I'm not going to take anyone's money.

I am still available this weekend and itching to go camping and practice some survival skills.
If anyone else is still interested in a trip this weekend, let me know and I will take point on organizing things.

I should still be good to go, I am just waiting to hear from my Friend who maybe joining us.

However if you want to reschedule for another time so others can make it; thats fine w/ me. I feel bad for Myright, and as a father I know he won't get out much when the baby comes

Luckily I have a wife that is pretty understanding and hopefully I'll be able to get some weekends to do some stuff. I'm just glad someone will be able to go and enjoy!

There is a SLIM chance that I may be able to sneak up there on Saturday after work, but I have to try and wiggle out of working on Sunday. We'll see.

Is anyone else planning to come this weekend. I don't want Tonym to come down from CT just to see me! Who else is going to come along?

I'm still eager to go, but if it needs to get rescheduled that's cool too.

OK. It looks like we are still on for a mini gathering this weekend.

So far:
Sharp Eye
Tonym (and maybe a guest)
theonew

Anyone else interested in coming along? The more the merrier.

BTW. I still like the idea of another WSF northeast or mid-atlantic get together in the Fall.

Me too. I'm sure a lot of others would too.

Thanks for running with this and getting something together. I feel horrible that I had to bail, but I guess keeping my job is pretty important :)

Myright - Stop feeling bad. We all appreciate the effort you put into this. You can cook breakfast at the next GTG if it will make you feel better.
You need to hold onto your job to support habits like eating and buying new knives.:D

Sharp Eye...I will hook up with you folks early Saturday Morning, I need to pick up my wife at the airport Friday night. Depending what everyone wants to do, I can offer to show you some nice hikes in the area with either waterfalls (current flow levels ?) or some secluded mountain ponds. Any of these locations can be used to practice various bushcraft skills including survival fishing if you have the "stuff" in your kit.

Thanks for the generous offer Stickman! That would be great.
I assume for fishing that we need to have a license.

People who are planning to go should let me know so that we can coordinate food and equipment.

Myright, do we know if there is a fire ring or the like at the group camping site?

Hey Ira - Check out this site. It's got the directions on it and it also has a bit about the campsite. I read on there that they do have fire rings.

Sharp Eye, I only have backpacking equipment...no fancy cooking gear, etc...I will be self contained for food. I can bring an 8x10 nylon tarp if that will be of any use. Sorry, but I never did the public camp ground thing before :-)

No worries Stickman. Between what I have and what I can borrow we should have the equipment that we need.
For me it might be fun to do some group cooking. What do others think?
