June Rendezvous?

It doesn't turn me off from the brand, they are still fantastic knives... but it has turned me off from buying them.

yup, youd be surprised the tactics some of the folks on the line used to just score more knives ... one guy mustve grabbed a ticket to go back in multiple times on the days he was there. But at least the ticket system and 2 knife limit set by Bill made it fairer. We all joked it would not be a surprise to see stuff on the bay before the weekend is over sadly. GEC even kept the nice stuff out of the case to make sure it was fair when I stopped in on Thursday for a sneak peak.

I'll probably break this up into a couple posts. It was great to be back in Titusville and get together with friends again although many of the regulars were missed, hopefully next year we can get together again. I really like how many younger enthusiasts I see, it bodes well for our hobby, I had a display of vintage knives there and it was fun to see how impressed they were with them and how they compared them to Great Eastern's knives.

As far as the distribution of knives the ticket system worked very well, no one hogged knives this way, if you wanted to get a second ticket or more you could but everyone else ahead of that number still went before you. Bill said they had a ton of knives available because of not having Rendezvous or going to Blade, getting multiple nice SFA knives was not a problem plus you could still get as many store knives or regular production knives you wanted.

Thanks for the photos John . I was wondering if you and Donna were there . I would have liked to have seen your collection of Vintage Knives as well as what ever others you may have brought . You picked up some very nice ones to take home as well . Carry them in good health my friend .

It sure wasn’t the same as years past for sure.
Bill Jr remembered that I would be out on the porch sharpening and teaching how I sharpen, I was surprised that he remembered that and that it was me. :)

love this photo I took several years ago
