June Rendezvous?

So, Jack Wolf Knives Jack Wolf Knives are being pushed at the GEC Rendezvous?
Except that this is a GEC Rally/Rendezvous sponsored by GEC at GEC's manufacturing facility so, I guess i'd be alright if Case or any other manufacture set up on the sidewalk outside GEC to hawk their knives.
Seems a tad unsavory.
I thought it might just be me. ;)
They're being pushed everywhere else, so this is not really surprising.

Sirs, I attended the Rendezvous as a huge fan of my favorite brand, and to meet several people in the slip joint community that I have been friends with for over 6 years. After being home for only 2 days post Blade Show, I flew from Phoenix to Dallas, to Pittsburgh, rented a car and drove 2.5 hours through winding forest roads in the dark, to arrive at midnight, only to stay up in line all night with more than 40 of the coolest guys I know, in a successful effort to make lifetime bonds and score a rendezvous knife. There were many people requesting to see the Jack Wolf Prototypes once it got light outside. After careful consideration, and once tables were setup with various vendors displaying knives of all different makes and models (including Case), I felt that it was appropriate and within reason to share the prototypes with interested friends and collectors. Had you been there I suspect you would agree that my actions were not distasteful or unsavory, which would be consistent with the overwhelmingly warm response I received from everybody at the Rendezvous.

The Rendezvous is an amazing experience. The most impressive part for me is meeting all of these amazing knife people face to face. It really makes things special and I will value this experience for the rest of my life. I can safely say there are at least 20 faces that I was able to put names to, which made the long journey and lack of sleep for 40 hours well worth it! Going to do it all over again tomorrow and for this I am truly grateful. -Ben

The 33 black and white acrylic is sweet and any 86 is a good 86 :p
GEC also did good with the shields on both knives imo. Congratz gents!

I was there and this is a correct accounting of it. These modern traditionals are not something I’m particularly into so I did not go over but I’m aware enough to know what I was looking at was Jack Wolf Knives. There were no attempts at getting attention or hey check these out type things. It didn’t look like anything more than some guys standing around a table that wasn’t already taken to talk about knives.

I did end up with this little rattler

Since they only allowed 5 people at a time in the store, they give you a ticket and then you wait for your turn

Strangely enough my ticket ends in 54, same year I was born

Underrated and affordable utility knives. The rattlers are a great pattern. And like Joh said, you are something to this Porch. Don't forget that, Gary. I would consider that "54" a lucky number for sure. Your birth year, and one of the best patterns GEC has produced. Let's see, a 4 bladed cattle knife, a three bladed stockman, a moose, the Northwoods Forrest Jack, the Northwoods Gladiator?,.....one heck of a pattern for one heck of a guy!

Thanks brother! and that little rattler is a pretty neat folder, I sharpened it up last nite and wow, what a fang it is now !!!

Remeber sharpening this one for me? I couldn't sharpen back then. Now I have found "my" method that works for me. Hard to see, but the corkboard install in the well was a Gary fix for blade wrap....

Oh yeah ! I remember that one narrow rascals make for difficult sharpening some times for sure! Glad to hear you have a better approach at that now!

I showed up around 3am and was number 30+ in line. I heard some folks came at 8pm the night before. Some of the other knife vendors set up under the tents had a lot of amazing things to look at, including 100 year old Case or Queen knives, through modern made GEC and Tuna Valley knives, and many others. It was nice to see so much variety, and so many people enjoying themselves.
