Just bought my last benchmade.

Wife's last car was a Forester. I liked that car. Hated to see it go away. Can't help but feel that she took a step backwards with her new KIA. It handles nice but I don't think it is the car that Subaru is. But, it's her car. She has to drive it. Not me. I'll stick with my old Jeep Cherokee and BMW motorcycle.
We went from an 18 outback to the 19 ascent. We like the ascent much better though. I like my 2010 srt8 grand Cherokee more though.

Then move on .Theres only about 500 or more choices. They will take your money . I think your missing the point ,stop piss and moaning, move on.
Not pissing and moaning at all.i spent just about a grand this month alone at benchmade. Just posting my personal experience. Nothing more. I can easily spend money with any other manufacturer, just as I have with benchmade.

To be honest with you, maybe that's one of the reasons when I am ready to buy a benchmade that is difficult to find, I am willing to forget that the blade isn't centered, or the lock feels like shit because hey they are right up the road. Then you buy a knife that is perfect right out the box... not really talking about the crkt...more the southern grind quill...its absolutely fantastic. You start to wonder if I am only buying this product because the warranty is so awesome, knowing full well I am probably going to be relying on that warranty?

I see you've never gone through the problems of owning a luxuary vehicle lol, but hey here's food for thought. Many Subaru's come straight from the factory with a engine that makes a horrible knocking sound when first started. If the customer complains enough Subaru will change out the pistons with special ones that are more quiet. This actually costs Subaru over 10G every time they do it but it's covered under their warranty! See even an awesome reliable car like Subaru has a dud here and there.

Don't get me wrong I understand where you are coming from, as it's disappointing to buy a premium product and have it not turn out exactly how you hoped for. But you got to give them the chance to make things right, and I know benchmade will. My knife isn't even worth the postage to send in for warranty, yours is at least worth working on.

I know they will... just like they have on the other knives I have bought from them. Lol

Buy a Dozier ,problem solved .

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on the matter, and I get it...when someone new joins a forum it's always sort of questionable. Not my first time getting into a well established forum .I can assure you I am no troll, and since moving to Oregon I am taking advantage of the a ability to purchase knives I could only dream of owning when I lived in California. From the benchmades to the microtechs. I love all aspects of knife collecting, and my collection is only going to grow! I respect everyones input.

The

Yes... I am more than willing to give A knife time to break in...I have had to break in other knives, but this is different. Just doesnt feel right at all.

The pilar is made out of steel which rarely locksticks. The monolock is made from titanium which is notoriously sticky. It has nothing to do with the quality of the knife. 2000$ knives can lockstick if they are made from titanium, that’s why they invented the lockbar insert.

It’s just something you are going to have to expect sometimes in some knivss if you want the benefit of ti which is its lightness.

Thread drift! Is this common? We just got a new 6 cyl outback, but the 4cyl before didn't have that problem.

You are missing the point. Yes I will take it to benchmade to get it fixed. I am tired of taking things to benchmade to get fixed. That's my whole point. From the Bali I bought, to the flipper, to the anthem if I cant stand the blade centering, to the ti... they all need service.
Then stop purchasing Benchmade products. Sounds like your not happy with the brand.

I find it interesting that some people have nothing but problems with BM and others have very good luck. They've been great for me and I am very critical about my knives.

Totally understandable...doesnt explain the ti quill from southern grind that is smooth as can be. No funk out of that lock....and its titanium. But again I understand what you are saying.

Isn't that what the title of the thread said? Lol

That's pretty bad. Is there any lube on the lockface? I've had that cause bad sticking before...try cleaning the tang and lockbar with some degreaser. You can also try some sharpie on the tang where the lockbar engages, has solved the problem for me in the past.

Blue lube was first try....then graphite....then sharpie. Didn't help.
